“My wife and I went without a reservation recently and were seated right away. The food is delicious and so fresh. I enjoyed the variety of selection on the salad bar and hot bar. The Brazilian cheese bread is addictive! On top of that, the service is spectacular. Our water was never empty and our plates always cleared. The manager, Mario, also made sure we were treated well. Loved it and plan to go back soon.“

“One of best classic spots in downtown Austin. Recommend getting a seat at the bar for great booze, food, and live jazz. We've always preferred this over their table dining, even for date nights. Loved how it's kept its local vibes through the years even though a chain now. Dishes to get: Lobster bisque, oysters, wedge salad, and accompanied by a perfect dirty ketel one dry martini.“

“We just had one of the best culinary experiences in Austin. My husband and I checked out The Guest House on a Monday evening and the vibe was awesome. They had a great DJ playing upbeat lounge music. Our server Vaden was so friendly and made some great recommendations for our meals. The salmon and braised short ribs were absolutely delicious. The Humachi was incredible as well. Overall an excellent date night!“

“Been here fifty times with friends and just my wife and I. I only go to the Arboretum location since going downtown is a real hassle. We have a favorite waiter but all the staff is exceptional. The food is always amazing. Thanksgiving there is the best in Austin.“

We have frequented Capital Grill several times and it has consistently been great - upscale, superior attentive service, great food, lovely atmosphere - truly best of the best. And then, they outdid themselves. We took a good friend there for an 80th bday celebration. First, a few fun decorations on the table, some great service by the lone bar tender (I think his name was Ralph!), who was amazing even on his own. After we ate, to my great surprise a cake appeared, beautifully decorated with her name - what an amazing thing to do for someone who has survived 80 years! To chef, Ken it was delicious. And to Nicholas Hoetzel, managing partner, our thanks for graciously offering to hold the cake till we attended a great show at Parker Jazz Club. Outstanding in every aspect, thank you so much.“

“My family and I were visiting Austin all the way from Arkansas. We found this restaurant, as we were out shopping at the Domain and I tried the Korean BBQ Philly cheesesteak sandwich. When it came out, it was so big that I cut it up in smaller portions because I didn't think I was going to eat all of it. But I ate all of it and it was so delicious! 😩 The service was great as well. We sat outside and ate under the shaded patio since it was so packed for the game, but the shade still provided coolness, so the atmosphere was still nice. 10/10 recommend.“

“We had an amazing experience at Maie Day. Even though the restaurant was completely booked, Khanh-Vy, Brie, and Bradley went out of their way to get a table set up for us and made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we walked in.

Brie and Bradley continued checking on us throughout the meal, and despite how busy the restaurant was, they made us feel like we were the only customers there. That level of hospitality is rare.

The food was outstanding. We had the Prime Rib and couldn’t believe it was part of happy hour for only $19. The Caesar salad was also fantastic and easily big enough for two people for just $5. The quality, service, and overall experience completely exceeded our expectations.

We live in Palm Beach, and when we come back to Austin, we’ll absolutely be returning to Maie Day. Highly recommend.“

Sit at the bar and order the crab cakes, seared ahi tuna with wasabi, steak sampler with Maker’s Mark bourbon and jalapeño horseradish. The brownie and the tres leches are to die for. “Over all my experience was great. My server was very attentive and made sure we had all what we wanted and the quality was up to our expectations. During the ordering process the server forgot to ask me my steak temp, which didn't upset me due to me. I was in the restroom at the time so my wife answered on my behalf. However, she answered to a temp a lot higher than I would like. I mentioned this to my server and they made sure to correct my steak temp which I greatly appreciated.

The only bumpy part of my service is our server was too eager to verbally check in. It was a little frustrating to have our server interrupt my conversation with my wife so many times. But I would take that over having to do a prairie dog imitation in order to get my servers attention.“

“Simply amazing. We were there for sunset over Travis Lake and it did not disappoint. Food was amazing, drinks were perfect and the atmosphere on point. We sat outdoors and we loved it. Our waitress was perfect. We weren’t rushed, which was huge! Band playing on the patio were great! We will be back. Our only regret was not getting the tomahawk lol we are still talking about it. “Great bar staff always consistent but allow children to sit at bar at night even on Friday eves. If wanted to put up with children at night would have stayed home. Then 250lb obese young woman sits next to me and cannot shovel food in fast enough. Had to move. Hit or miss. But again good bar staff.“

“We made reservations to celebrate our son's 25th birthday online for 8:15. We arrived at the restaurant on time at 8:11pm. We checked in with hostess. She informed us our table wasn't ready and we could wait at the bar. It took at least 20 minutes for them to prepare our table. I did request for us to have a table not near a lot of guest as we wanted a quiet area to celebrate our son's birthday. Otherwise, as usual the food was delicious and our server Bobby was courteous and friendly.“
