“We’d hoped to go to Mozarts next door but it was sold out for Christmas Lights. We decided to try Quince since we had spent time getting there and parking. We asked if we could sit near the water and they took us to a table one row away (the rest was booked). Happy Hour was almost over but our waiter Baddi said we had enough time to order. He recommended a margarita/sangria mix which was yummy. We ordered the HH brisket fries and Tuna Wontons. Everything was delicious and Baddi’s service was excellent. At one point the music got really loud, which started to annoy us, till we looked out over the water and a slack rope walker was performing over the water. It was quite a show! He later did the same thing over one of their outdoor decks on the other side. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and were surprised so few of the indoor seats were full. If they opened their door and made it more welcoming, we thought a lot more people would have come over as the outside areas were packed for the lights.“

“I want to give a shout out to a wonderful new restaurant here in South Austin, specifically the Brodie/Slaughter area. It's called The Local, and it's a delight. The decor is warm and inviting--no chrome or glass and no tvs blaring sports. We were pleased to see that the place was busy at 7 on a Tuesday, it's such a welcoming sound. The food was perfectly prepared and artfully presented, simple, no frufru. The service was terrific, sharp, prompt and helpful. We met the owner and were delighted to learn that this is not part of a chain or even a 'group' as they call them now, but a single family operation. We'd love to see them succeed, if only for the slightly selfish reason that it's nice to go to a good restaurant without having to drive a long way. It's just a few minutes down the street and you may be sure we'll be going back. We need more of these kinds of joints down here. Fair warning, it's not cheap, but then what is these days?“

“The exterior look does not even hint at the interior space vibe. The cloud lighting and effects with tracked robot delivery pods is a unique vibe.
As a first-time visitor, the whole restaurant experience was quite eclectic; additionally, we were celebrating a birthday.
We decided to try several popular appetizers, sides and entrees, then share amongst ourselves.
The duck ravioli appeared to be rich but the sauce was lighter than you may suspect. It was nice to share between the four of us.
Our appetizer choices were Space Balls and Seared Brocollini. They were a good start and an opportunity to test out the robot delivery system.
For mains, we had the Duck Ravioli and 2 Braised Short Ribs. Substituted Stardust and Regular Fries for the vanilla mashed potatoes since we weren't willing to have a double serving of an unknown entity.
After sharing the prior servings, we added 3 Cowboy Sliders to feel satiated.
The birthday dessert was a seasonal pear tart with ice cream.
Our server, Mike, was extremely helpful in selecting drinks, food and negotiating the overall flow of the restaurant. It was slightly busy and noisy but still conversable.
The robot may occasionally stop and offer unsolicited servings but they shouldn't be taken.
Reservations are recommended, parking appears available but we walked.“

“We had such a special experience tonight at Acre 41 in Austin! By pure coincidence, we were seated at the exact same table we had during our last visit, and to our surprise, our server was Lexie again! She immediately recognized us, and of course we recognized her too.

Ten months ago when we first met Lexie, it was actually her first day serving at Acre 41. She was already fantastic then, but seeing her tonight it’s clear she’s absolutely thriving. Lexie brings so much joy, positive energy, and genuine hospitality to her work. She made our evening feel personal and memorable all over again.

Dinner was phenomenal. I was lucky enough to get the last slice of the incredibly popular Prime Rib, which was outstanding. We also had the Caesar salad and the elote, both just as delicious as we remembered. And of course, there was no way we were leaving without the bread pudding! It’s simply too good to skip and absolutely lives up to the hype.

Acre 41 continues to impress with incredible food, a beautiful atmosphere, and a team that clearly takes pride in creating a great guest experience. And Lexie is a huge part of that. We are so thankful we got to see her again and experience her amazing service.

“As with President’s House Coffee, Capital A is best approached with the knowledge that you’re paying for the convenience of not having to venture outside. And, as with President’s House, it’s respectable by hotel dining standards.

I stopped by for breakfast on my last day in town and was seated promptly. After considering the assortment of omelets, sandwiches, and other fare (including, surprisingly shakshuka), I opted for the migas tacos. They came filled with beef, eggs, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and cheese, and they were paired with potato wedges. The tacos were definitely a knife-and-fork rather than a handheld affair, and they delivered all the right flavor notes. The accompanying potatoes were well-seasoned and perfectly crisp. All told, it made for a salty but satisfying and filling meal.“

For the dining experience we had, they should be charging 2-3x more for their food and we would gladly pay it. It is a small restaurant so reservations are needed to make sure they have availability. NO ambience mid service (saw waitress maybe 2x she disappeared often. Wtf did i pay for?? food was NO BETTER than Dennys or IHOP I promise you!!! $22 for 3 paper thin pancakes is crazy. I don't get to do brunch often. I want my money back. this sucked and I HIGHLY don't recommend it. no atmosphere. why would yall do that work at 1pm on a Saturday??? TRULY smelled like sewage. never coming back seriously don't go. no wonder we walked in with no reservation. I think they have fake reviews too.“
