Emmer & Rye absolutely delivered. We had dinner there on July 3rd while in Austin, and it was one of those meals where every course felt thoughtful, creative, and completely dialed in.
We started with the smoked Gulf oyster, which had this awesome balance of smoke, brightness, and heat. It was bold without being heavy, and a perfect way to kick things off. My wife and I love everything about this restaurant. We went tonight to celebrate her birthday.
The service is impeccable. You can see that everyone pitches in at every step of service. We've been coming here for years and in the past we've even had a server contact us a week after we had dined to give us recommendations for restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, merely because we mentioned we would be traveling there. (We tried a few and they were well suggested).
