The food was really good. So far our go to Tamale place. They do have vegetarian options. The salsa bar has some good tasting salsa. You must order at the counter and they will take the food to your table. Highly recommend it for Mexican food in South Austin.

I was really looking forward to trying Mi Ranchito, but honestly, the breakfast didn’t live up to my expectations. We waited in line for about 20 minutes, which I don’t mind if the food is worth it, but the plates were very plain tasting. I tried adding salsa, but it still felt like something was missing.

The food wasn’t bad, just average-pretty much like something I could cook at home. For that reason, I’d give it three stars. It’s a nice place with nice people, and maybe their lunch menu is better, but as a breakfast spot, it just didn’t stand out to me.

I always write honest reviews based on taste, service, and overall quality. Some people review out of anger, and others only when they’re impressed, but I think it’s important to share the real experience. In this case, I was a little let down because I expected something tastier or different from other places, and it just wasn’t there.

At the end of the day, Mi Ranchito seems like a solid neighborhood spot with potential, but if you’re looking for a memorable breakfast experience, you may want to try somewhere else. Maybe their lunch or dinner menu is where they really shine-I’d be open to giving that a try in the future.

The service was excellent and the food was delish! The tamales were big and filled with meat. I also had the pork in chili verde and it was good! Also love the assortment of aguas frescas. I had the watermelon and my son had the pina.

No one greeted
me. Wasn't sure to order at the counter or have a seat.
Tables were not cleaned off.
Restrooms are male and female.
Chairs were uncomfortable , almost fell in.
But the atmosphere is pretty inside and out.
You order at the counter but flip charts are behind u. It takes a minute to flip through then order. No waitress . If like outdoor ampostpher without a waitress, this place is for you. My beef fajita was excellent. My chicken fajita had several small bones throughout. Chicken Fajita shouldn't have bones.

Visited this place for the first time and I wish I had gone sooner! We tried the chilaquiles rojos, tamales, sopes, aguas frescas, and flan. We loved it all! You could tell the horchata was real and not just artificial flavoring. It's very hard to find authentic Mexican food spots in Austin (as opposed to Tex-Mex or just Tex). This place is definitely a gem. Excited to go back to try their lattes!

Place is cute and staff is kind. Breakfast tacos are always greasy and my tortillas are soaked and feel mushy. I dont know why they dont let some of the grease out before placing in a taco. I tried to give them several tries and just cant anymore.
