It is an excellent place, I had the opportunity to film a wes shoot in this place and I recommend it, it is very beautiful.
I cannot say enough good things about this place! We drove all over Texas and we had the most fun at this place... by far. Good family fun! The prices were very affordable, even for drinks at their cafe. The owner was very friendly and told us all about the place. You can tell he loves it very much.
Why is it temporary closed?
Had our ibew local 520 spring fling our there...its awesome...burgers are great...beers cold and there's a maze
My daughter invited me here to distract me from a horrible migraine. Part of his therapies is to walk and get laughs and “distract” the pain. So he takes me to this place. She likes to take photos of me for celebrating life. Photos of his mom. But both survivors,
So this place was fun and easy to get to.
A good place to take photos, I think that for professional photos you have to ask permission. and have a fun time. The day I went, we arrived hungry so we had lunch there, surprisingly it was good, while we listened to live music for a while, then we had fun in each recreation of the different areas of the town. I had a good time with my daughter.
It totally distracted me.
Recommended 100%. Although it is always good to check that these places are still open.
It's an incredible place! The people here are very friendly, and the burgers, not to mention, delicious. It's like going back in time, it was built by a single person and scenes from the series Fear WD 5 have also been filmed here. We really enjoyed it even though the heat was unbearable. I was pleased to visit it.
I honestly loved this ghost town we travel 2 hours and spend the whole afternoon until closing time my family enjoyed exploring seeing the town and I have to say the ghost burgers ? just great flavor :) had such a great time planning to visit again . Such a great place & no cost fee .
Nice walk around the ghost town had me thinking what buildings were they used for? And the food oh let me tell you about the food It’s so good that I had to save it for dinner and my son enjoyed the food and the town as good as me
My son and I took a trip out to this place on a whim this Saturday evening. The location has a ton of small places to explore and see. Somebody had hired the big main hall for a Christmas party, and were kind enough to let us take a peek inside. All the people we met there were really nice.We walked around the site, took some photos and then finished off the day at the main saloon. We both had burgers and fries (which were really good).Admission is free, and it's impressive that the place was mostly constructed by a singular person.Well worth a visit.
Best burgers in town probably is true :) Very friendly people there. I think in summer time it is quite nice to visit and walk around, he k even order a burger with whiskey - in a dirty glass - for a real experience. But since I was just after a rainy day it was wet and cold and the maze was closed. But I had fun walking around and just talking.
Restaurantji Recommends
This place is awesome. I cant believe it not only exists, its also free! What?!?! Mary is the nicest person Ive ever met. The food is delicious. There are games in addition to the ghost towm attractions. Highly recommend.
Such a cool place to wander around! The staff is kind and welcoming. Totally worth stopping by! The beer is good and the food smelled great!
Cool spot to walk around and enjoy. The maze was fun to walk through, but it would be cool if they re-did some of the painted writing since it was so faded and probably would add to the spooky feeling. Ended it with some chili fries and beer.
So the ghost town is referring to deserted, not haunted, just for clarification. Typically they offer free admission on weekends that they're not doing events (which is rare) and it's a self paced walk on your own. There's no tour guide, but the owner does walk around and he's super friendly, and there's a place to eat/drink and it's pretty good pricing. You can get 2 burgers 2 fries/tots, 2 soft drinks for $16 and it's grilled outside. I'd recommend if you're looking for something to do just sucks that Texas is so hot during the summer. A lot of the buildings you can walk into and check things out, some are just an outside shell for safety, but overall I really enjoyed it.
Stopped here on a road trip and let me tell you it was totally worth it. There is no admission, our burgers were very tasty along with our cold beers. The owner and staff are super nice and full of information. If you're a WD universe fan, season 5 of Fear WD was filmed here. My spouse and I kind of recreated that scene for giggles. I suggest anyone in the area stop by for some great food, atmosphere and photo opportunities. Also, the whole place can be rented out for parties. Literally, had multiple buildings that had bars and dining areas in them.
