“We stopped here for lunch while driving through Marathon. My hot turkey sandwich (more like a turnover) was decent. Swiss cheese inside (instead of, say, provolone) wasn’t my favorite, but that’s a matter of taste. It also had grilled mushrooms. My husband reported that his fried chicken sandwich was good, but it had only a tiny smear (about a teaspoon’s worth) of mayo on it. When he asked for more, the server reported that they’d just run out. (Of mayo?? In fairness, I think the nearest grocery store is in Alpine.) We had arrived at 11:30 am, so the lunch “rush” (if any) had yet to happen. We might have done better with their burgers or Mexican food dishes, which is what I’d try if I go back.Parking: Lots of free parking, but mostly across the street. No dedicated parking lot.Kid-friendliness: It seems family friendly, although there were no kids there during our visit. The main dining room is a bit small, but the larger side dining room would accommodate family groups.“
