Had nice lunch at this place on our way to Big bend National park. This is one of the last places to fuel up and to have food before entering the park area.

Honest family service and high quality food for the price point. The salsa for the burritos was very fresh. It slapped.

Refreshing spot to eat well and rest after a long drive. Their cheeseburgers beat any other burger out there! Kind staff and locals. Very friendly environment.

2nd visit: Returned a second time, after visiting Big Bend and ordered something totally different. The fried mushrooms and the green chile burritos hit the spot. The food came out piping hot and the burritos were spicy-hot. When in Marathon, this will be our go-to stop. The people are also super nice :)1st visit: For a convenience store restaurant, this place was very clean. The tostadas and tacos (ground beef) were delicious.

This was the best 6 dollar burger of my entire life. The family is so sweet and the burger is fresh and delicious. All the veggies were perfect. It was shaped so well. I wish I could come back for more! Thank you so much.

Omygoddd I am totally missing this restaurant now. Everyone who plans for Big Bend National park should stop by this restaurant and have their food and go. This restaurant is located in Marathon which is one of the last place before you proceed to the Big Bend National park. This restaurant is located inside ALON gas station. If you have to fill your gas this ALON is the last place to fill your tanks before you proceed to Big Bend.Well not just fueling your vehicle but don’t forget to fuel yourself with their food ??We ordered Jalapeño Poppers, Fish Burger , Chicken Strips , Curly Fries, Tostadas. It was tooo good. Being near the Mexico border I felt like it was a perfect Mexican taste and I loved the sauce which they gave. It as the first time I ever had that sauce in a Mexican restaurant. Well I loved it not sure if you might ??Staffs were friendly and don’t forget to get a snack from the store which is very yummy and has some spice flavor.

Must try!!!!! Locally owned and operated wonderful folks. We got a sausage and egg and bacon and egg sandwich made fresh with real eggsno warming lamps. Super affordable! Under 5$ per plump sandwich. Clean bathrooms and delicious food and plenty of drink options

This was our favorite breakfast place in Marathon. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the made to order breakfast sandwiches and burritos we tried at J&G. The salsa was flavorful and spicy. Store also offers several types of individually packaged pastries. Self-serve coffee bar had vanilla creamer and more. Employees were very friendly. Clean tables and bathrooms too.

Fantastic quality breakfast burritos and sandwiches. Stopped by on the way out off Big Bend. Highly recommended. Don't know about other meals but based on the breakfast, everything else has got to be good as well. Clean bathrooms top it off.

3.5 stars if I could. Clean place. The cheese burger was good and big. Onion rings good, 6 in the serving seemed small. Green Chile burrito not good. Ground beef wasn't seasoned to my taste wrapped in a burnt tortilla. I appreciate them trying to crisp it up but it went too long and wasn't good. Would come back again for their burgers. Friendly staff.

Before making the big turn south from US 90 towards Big Bend NP, I figured I would top off the diesel tank, and fill up my two empty cans in the back of the truck. Pulled into what appeared to be the only open service station in town, and noticed there was a small counter inside market in themselves as a grill restaurant. Who am I to judge? Besides, the kids were feeling a little peckish, and while we did not want to stop for a full-blown meal and mess up our well planned schedule, I didn't see anything wrong with grabbing a few things for the kids to split in the backseat, and hopefully get most of it into their mouths and not onto my upholstery. I ordered up a few Gorditas, since the meat smelled good, and I figured how do you mess up ground beef and fixins in a thick cornmeal tortilla? I walked back out to the truck just about the time my tank was full, and threw the bag into the backseat to my kids, all snarling like ravenous wolves. I heard the sound of wrinkling and tearing paper, as they devoured the food. One of them managed to say "these are good!" Between bites, but before I could get into verify, they were all gone. Oh well, South bound and down for four days of camping on the Rio Grande. The place was closed up and dark when we drove by again on our way out for days later, but really that's OK. Things tend to happen and the line in the moments that you need them to, so if ever I'm passing through Marathon again, and the stars align, and the only thing to seat my hunger is a gas station gordita? J&G is going to come through, you just watch.
