Elsie returned my phone call and we had a 2 minute conversation before we agreed on the king suite for one night. Beautiful, historical building with a lovely history. King suite was spacious, had a private bathroom and included a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker (8 cups) and very fluffy towels, Amazing water pressure as well. The AC worked incredibly efficient, and our bed was a very comfortable, soft king sized with nice bedding. Location was in a prime spot, building was very safe and easy to navigate.

Highly recommend this spot to anyone coming to Marfa and unsure where to stay.

The hotel is newly remodeled and the entire place is immaculately clean. The room we were in was terrific.

This is a boutique hotel. If you need valet parking, room service, or chocolates on your pillow at night, you may want to consider other accommodations. But this hotel is perfect if you need a great location, a quiet place to comfortably sleep, and a five-star concierge. Elsie (the owner/manager) is more helpful and knowledgeable of local resources and attractions than any four- or five-star hotel concierge or manager I have ever known (she was born and raised in Marfa). Likewise, the hotel is also cleaner than most hotels. Like, crazy-clean. It is definitely boutique, and not all rooms have bathrooms and showers (remember, it is boutique).I visited Marfa with a bit of hesitation due to its remoteness and questions of its services, restaurants and comfort, but I was pleasantly surprised. I will most definitely return again.

Beware of false advertising. Most rooms do not have a bathroom. This is a shared bathroom and shared shower place. Some rooms do have their own bath, which is what I was booked and paid for, only to arrive and not get that room. Manager lied and said she'd refund my money since I did not choose to stay (only men in other rooms). This was booked through VRBO (horrible customer service) and Expedia (false advertising and horrible customer service). Other than that, the room I was meant to have was otherwise nice enough, though the stained bedspreads were creepy. All in all, extremely disappointing to have been lied to and to not have Carmens, Expedia or VRBO make it right. So unnecessary to run a business that way---especially in Marfa.

Our stay in Elsie’s room was great! Everything in the hotel is clean and relatively new. My husband and I had ample closet space, and the location was very convenient.

Everything was as advertised. Easy to find, right on the main road. Will stay here again.
