We stopped here for early dinner and were indeed surprised by how rude the welcome we received, The service was OK, but the food wasn't. I do believe these places survive only as the offer in town is so minuscule.

A decent option for Marfa but don’t expect to be blown away. The food was pretty good, but nothing was outstanding — definitely overrated based on the other reviews here. We had the olives (which were warm and not memorable), the anchovies and chips (OK), the sardine toast (best thing we ordered), spaghetti bolognese (OK), deviled eggs (disappointing), buttered Parmesan noodles for our child (fine), and key lime pie (good). Service was great.Kid-friendliness: Small kids menu and unique coloring sheet.

By far my best experience in Marfa after being disappointed by the few things I had to look forward to. AND that's saying the worst about Marfa and the most about Margaret's. It's a well kept secret from adverts but highly recommended among locals so we took a chance based on very good advice from Cactus liquors representatives that day nearby. (Sorry I have forgotten her name). Not only was the atmosphere, attentiveness and menu beyond expectations the food was superb, fresh in ingredients as well as take on the dish. The experience topped my whole 4 days and I'd return just for that. Definitely try new things and talk to strangers!Vegetarian options: So many options for a variety of menu preferencesDietary restrictions: Seems to have a lil something for everyoneParking: Quaint small town with adequate space for visitors

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this quaint local restaurant in Marfa, Texas, and the experience truly surpassed my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance struck a perfect balance between cozy and chic, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the stage for a memorable meal. The presentation of the food was a feast for the eyes. Each dish was crafted with attention to detail, showcasing the chef's commitment to not only taste but also aesthetic appeal. The flavors were a delightful journey, blending traditional Texan ingredients with a modern twist that left me both satisfied and pleasantly surprised.Service was another highlight of the experience. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that were spot on and greatly enhanced my dining experience.Overall, this hidden gem in Marfa is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional culinary experience. It's a place where the quality of the food, the beauty of its presentation, and the excellence of service all come together to create a dining experience that's not just a meal, but a memorable event.

We were a bit disappointed with this restaurant. Judging from prior reviews, we were expecting a better dining experience. They have a long line outside for a table since they don't take reservations, but there aren't many other options in town, so I guess that's why everyone wants to eat here. Restaurant decor is ok, but it is quite loud. The wait for a table is longer than to sit at the bar, so we opted to sit at the bar. Menu is not extensive; food is just ok. Probably would not go back; not sure if it's worth the 1-2 hour wait.

Margaret’s is a small restaurant with few tables but lots of bar seating. If you go in a large group, be prepared to wait, but I got a seat at the bar quickly. Margaret’s has some dishes I haven’t seen elsewhere. The cheese toast was ciabatta loaded with feta and diced tomatoes. Messy but exceptional taste. I had a carrot, garlic, jalapeno, and flank steak salad that, again, was unlike anything I’d had before but out-of-this-world good, with different flavors hitting tastebuds in every bite. The key lime pie dessert was traditional but very creamy and loaded with cream in a thick graham cracker crust: every key lime pie feature stood out, in other words. The prices were lower than I’d expect for food of this quality. And while Marfa is a bit gritty, this was a clean, modern restaurant; even the bathrooms were new and immaculate.

Good portions of food and the dishes were very well crafted. The wine selection was also really great and the options available by glass were very good. The interior design is beautiful, thoughtful, and very well laid out. Seems like a good place for bigger groups or even solo travelers. Can’t wait to go back!

Went for my birthday dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised to see beef bourguignon on the menu! We also split the house white, roasted yam, and a key lime pie. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was chic and romantic. Would definitely go again!

I'm sad to say that we were very underwhelmed by our experience at Margaret's. Found the ribs to be tough and the rest of the food was mediocre. Staff was friendly. Just seemed overpriced and overhyped to us.
