I have friends that work there and told me one day some girl Jennifer was sick and she was coughing all over the plates I will never go there
The price has gone up but the quality and portions have gone down. That's all I have to say.
Great brisket sandwich with perfect fries

Visited with my mom and sister on our way home from CC. I ordered special of the day, BBQ Brisket plate with sausage and 2 sides, my mom got a BBQ Brisket sandwich , and my sister got the BBQ Ribs plate. All our food had great flavor, however the brisket and sausage was not hot. It was like luke warm at best. Was disappointed but still ate our food. We let our server Barb know, and she said she would let the kitchen know. They said that was the best they could do. I've been through the drive thru and have never had our meat cold. It's been six years since I've visited, so was saddened that we were not offered to have our food warmed up or maybe a free dessert.
They rock! We always make a stop on our way home to San Antonio... excellent BBQ for a reasonable price.

Just driving thru today aroumd lunch and had to run thru the drive thru.....AH-mazing brisket (perfectly cooked), beans, mac n cheese and that ROLL.....makes me wish I had gone in to see the bakery! Awesome food!
(11-3-2024) brisket tasted horrible! Bark tasted like charcoal starter and liquid smoke. Beans were unseasoned and bland. It’s definitely not worth the price they charge plus they take on an extra 3% if you pay with a debit card. It’s gone way downhill since their “Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ” they like to brag about. Won’t be spending another dime there! Bill Miller at 5-points has them beat by a mile! Don’t waste your time or money on Smolik’s!

Terrible service and the waiters rub on dogs that they let in an try to serve your food without washing their hands only reason they stay in business is beacuse it's one of the only restaurants in town
I can not say enough about the pork ribs, they were like butter coming off the bone! My favorite item so far! I honestly didn't care for the sides, or the chopped brisket, it was too sweet. I tried someone's sweet potatoe side and it was very good. My man had turkey and cabbage and he loved it all. I will absolutely be back for nothing else those ribs. Place is a little pricey, I would say out of range for the flavor of most of the food.
Edit: I forgot I tasted one of my moms onion rings and they were very good, nice and crunchy. Oh and corn, nope, it seemed they just added straight milk, not creamy at all.
