I’m not from McAllen and came across this spot online, and wow—I’m so glad I did! I wish I had taken a picture of my lechero coffee, but it was so good I completely forgot—LOL! I ordered the steak and eggs (medium) with poached eggs and a side of hollandaise, and oh my gosh… everything was amazing. The flavors were spot-on, the potatoes had this uniquely delicious taste, and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly.
The service was outstanding—my server just knew exactly what I needed today. I even tried the house tea, and he kindly made it iced for me.
I sat outside, and the weather was perfect for enjoying my breakfast and a FaceTime call with my boyfriend while visiting from out of town.
Such a great experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back!

Huge shout out to our server Noe!! He was literally the best, gave us delicious recommendations, and was so attentive. There was limited seating downstairs so to accommodate our party, the host placed us up top with the perfect table. Will 100% be going back!

Absolutely horrible service! Waiter did not come back to check if we needed anything. I ordered steak and eggs and the lady taking my order said there wasn’t any and made the most disgusting face! 5 mins later a family came and sat behind me and they ordered steak and eggs and they had no problem making it for them. The same lady that told me they didn’t have anymore was the same lady that brought out the steak eggs for the people sitting behind me. Absolutely disgusting service. Food was extremely salty.

Great setting and ambience. Also like the menu choices. It is one of my favorite places to go for brunch or lunch.

My husband isn’t much of a city person so he doesn’t like places like these but this one he loved we had brunch with a couple of friends and we all had a blast friendly service and our waiter was funny too and the food was awesome my husband loved the omelette and the sauce that came with it 10/10 recommend!

Super cute and homie place. Food is good and good portion. Waiter was good but when we went up to the counter to pay the lady that attended us was pretty rude. Not sure if she was having a bad day. But other than that it was good.

This little gem located in downtown McAllen off of Main Street is an excellent choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Cozy vibe with plenty of seating inside and out. Nice choices on the menu and their coffee is 🤌🏼excellent. Every dish we ordered was delicious, cooked to order, and well presented . Wait staff was very attentive. British tea shop decor is a nice touch.

The service despite having several people come to us was curt. We were being watched by several employees. One of which sat by the door in a very crowded area right next to my husband. We paid with one lady and another man stopped us to ask if we paid… 😐 never experienced such lack of decorum. We will definitely not be back.

We had a fun experience at Birdie Bistro. A lot of atmosphere thanks to their decorations. Service was great, very friendly staff. The food was good, the only negative feedback is that I wish the coffee drinks tasted more like coffee, my mocha latte tasted like hot cocoa, it didn’t taste bad I just couldn’t taste the coffee.
We really enjoyed eating here, recommend for dates, friends/family brunches

The server Lucero was so rude to my grandma! My grandma is an old person that needs patience & the server was annoyed when my grandma took a while to seat down, the server told my grandma if she didn’t like the table ? My grandma which has dementia said no and said something out of the blue like I am waiting for another person and the server said “YOU DONT THINK THIS IS ENOUGH FOR 3 PEOPLE” annoyed and proceeds to take the order for drinks then annoyed still took the order for drinks only then took HOURS to come back she ignored us and never took our order for the food ! We had to call the owner to take our order and she then finally came back and brought my sister and I our food but left my grandma for last !! So sad that she took resentment against my grandma without knowing the situation! We didn’t feel welcome at this place and we won’t be back !! Don’t let tik tok fool you ! It’s not spacious at all and servers are rude !!

My friends and I had an amazing dining experience this past weekend! Two of us had the steak and eggs breakfast (both steaks were cooked to perfection! Med-rare & med-well); one had the chicken & french toast (instead of waffles); one had the omelette a bagel and fresh fruit; and one had the steak sandwich with manchego cheese and sweet potato fries. We all made very happy plates and would order our meals again. The breakfast potatoes were divine. I especially loved my strawberry lemonade (with lots of fresh strawberries) and the ladies who order the Frozé thoroughly enjoyed them.
There was a Red Hat Society meeting there while we were dining and one of the ladies came over and had a good chat with us. We also loved the decor, it was a very good vibe for a fun little dress-up meal with your friends or a nice weekend brunch alone.
