If you place an order over the phone and are told the order will be ready in 15-20 min. Just get in line at the drive through already. I’ve been in line at the drive though for 25 min making ordering via phone useless. The line is moving at about one car every 10-15 min. I went inside to check on the order. The hosted pretended to go check on my order and came back 8 min later with zero information for me. This is not the first time I have encountered this hostess who provides poor customer service. In fact I heard her be rude to several customers while I waited to speak to her.

I will never go back here again. The worst services ever. I had to wait forever to get seated. The hostess would only seat groups of 4 or more. She kept passing us over because there were only two of us. I asked what was going on, and she totally forgot I was on the waiting list. I had to wait over 40 minutes to finally get a table. The food was okay, nothing wow.

Very nice place to have a lunch with friends and have good conversations. Service was really good, and very good food options. I wouldn’t say is authentic Mexican tho, but very good.

Could be some improvement on the service process. My server was nice, but also very slow to bring my check, even after asking me several times if I was ok while seeing my empty plate. Other than that, the food was delicious. Fajitas were juicy and tender with excellent flavor. Enchiladas were very cheesy and nice flavor to the gravy. Chips were perfect, served with salsa that just the right amount of spicy.

Don Pepe’s has some classic valley Mexican food that. On this visit I ordered the botana for one and it was massive, I was only able to eat half but it was surely delicious. The price was middle range I would say, appropriate. The atmosphere inside is an upper scale hacienda style with Puebla vibe. It was mixed the service was nice and fast.

Outside the restaurant there is a little water feature (I’m not sure if it’s part of Don Pepe but you can still walk over). The water feature is gated and has geese who were so angry we were there but they were still cute in all their anger. There was duck just squawking around.

Overall it was a nice experience with tasty food.

We have dined at Don Pepe on several occasions while visiting family in the RGV. The menu filled with so many delicious options and the great service provided by their entire staff is why they remain the guaranteed place to eat at at least once each time we visit!

The service was horrible. We arrived at the same time as another gentleman. There was no one at the front. The girl finally shows up and points at the gentleman and asks, “picking up?” She then points at me and my fiancé and asks in an annoyed tone, “two?” She walked away and came back and told us to follow her.

She showed us the table and made a face at my fiancé waiting to see which seat would be chosen. Mind you, she put the menus on another table so we were confused as to which table was going to be ours. Guess what? It wasn’t the one with the menus.

Our waiter was Armando, and, boy…where do I begin? He showed up with an upset face and did not greet us at all. His only word upon arriving to our table was “drinks?” We told him our drink order. When he arrived with our drinks, he pulled out his notepad and only went “mhmmm,” in an annoyed and upset tone. We told him our order and he replied “tortillas?” We told him corn, and he walked away.

He brought us our food, grabbed our cups, and told me in a rude tone, “quítale el popote.” No please. No thank you. Nothing.

There was another couple that got sat down by our table, and he was also rude to them. The lady looked at me, shook her head in disbelief while chuckling. I just shrugged and smiled at her.

The vibe there is tense and horrible. We did not feel welcomed at all.

Showed up for breakfast and then waiting area was full and there was no person in front to take names. She showed up and kept setting people. She didn't seem worried about taking people's name. People kept coming in and others started to leave.

I had to stop her and ask if she's going to take name's or get help so one person can seat and another can take names.

She looked at me with a lost look. She didn't speak English so my mom had to explain to her.

Anyway, I ordered their 2 baskets meal. When served it looked like the so called 2 baskets looked like it was one basket cut in two to look like 2 baskets
My mom's pancakes were thicker.

Very little gravy. Overall it still takes good, but didn't meet the expectations of traditional baskets and gravy.

Also, the owner sits in the restaurant all the time. He looks mad all the time.

I called to place an order and the lady who answered had no customer service skills. Le faltaban ganas para hablar. I went by instead, no one greats anyone, though they’re by the door and no “thank you” no nothing at time of paying.
