We always stop here when in the Pharr/McAllen area. They make the best Don Julio Reposado Margarita in the country, even better than the original location in Laredo. The service, the food (especially the charro beans), and the atmosphere are top-notch.

Food was fine, and waiter was nice. What messed up the experience was an employee whistling the cat call whistle at my 13 year old daughter on her way to the restroom. The kitchen door is to the right, before the restrooms on the left. Unacceptable behavior towards a child and being a restaurant guest.

When in McAllen, this is a must, with a couple of need to know disclaimers! First of all, get ready for some of the BEST Mexican food you'll ever have. The chips, salsa, and refried beans with chorizo are pretty good, and you could practically get full on this alone! I had the tacos de carne asada and O-M-G i couldn't stop eating the meat. It was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. A bonus for me was that there was relatively no fat or tendons on this meat. It is so hard to find these traits even in the best of restaurants. The downside to this dish is that it literally only comes with the tortilla, the meat, grilled onions, and 1 grilled jalapeño. I was like, where's the cilantro, the avocado or guac, and all the other toppings, so you have to order these things separately. I had fresh lime-cucumber water, and i could drink that all day every day!!! Anyway, the service was so-so and the environment is nice enough. I'd go back for the carne asada and the drink i had I'd i were ever in the area again!! Just be prepared to drop some cash on your meal. Yes, you can get the same food at a street taco place, but you can tell this place uses nothing but premium ingredients.

There's plenty of choices for Mexican food in town, we chose this one and definitely made a good choice. Our server was friendly, very efficient, kept our drinks filled, checked on our table several times after we were served. The food was unanimously very good, well prepared, fast service. Attractive venue, we were seated at a table for 6 and had plenty of room. My order of chicken fajitas was very good, the chicken was tender, just lacked flavoring.I should mention, one person ordered the beef fajitas and the beef was tough.Overall, I recommend this restaurant.
