I went yesterday to buy 2 calico de pollo to go. When I took them and open the containers- one whole potato and a whole tomato (neither one was cut up) only a leg in the soup. Squash was in big chunks also. It was a waste of $30.00 that I paid for. Never again will I stop there again. So disappointed.

I don’t even know where to begin… but I have to start with the worst part.
The food.
We walked in with high hopes, the kind you get when the music is lively, the staff greets you warmly, and everything feels like it's going to be a great night. The waiter was attentive, the atmosphere buzzing. For a moment, it felt promising… almost too promising.
Then came the Mar y Tierra botana.
At first glance, it looked decent...like it might redeem itself. But the moment I took a bite, everything unraveled. The shrimp? Rubber. The fish? Dry and lifeless. The breading? Like biting through a rock. I tried the rice, hoping for a soft landing...it was undercooked, almost crunchy. As for the fajitas, let’s just say they were mostly chicken... with four lonely strips of beef tossed in like an afterthought.
Each bite was a letdown. A mystery of how something could look so good and taste so... wrong.
The music? Honestly, the only reason this place got an extra star. If you come here, come for the live music and nothing else.
Because if it’s food you’re after… I can't, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone. It started like a dream but ended like a culinary nightmare.

Awesome place food was good.But we wanted to order from menú waiter didn't want to give us some menú's . So we got some parrilladas!!!
Was kinda dark feeling...food was good...service was poor...was not busy so don't know what the problem was lol lol. Shrimp Cocktail was the best I've ever had tho!! I'll give them that.

The restaurant needs a remodel or face-lift. But overall, the atmosphere, customer service, and food are amazing every time we go. We always make it a point to eat here when we visit RGV.
