Love this place .The owner Balde was out greeting customers and treated us like family .. everything was delicious including there homemade bakery 🥯..love this McAllen staple ...
Absolutely phenomenal experience. From the moment you enter are greeted with a smile and top notch service.
Had their breakfast tacos with chorizo and eggs and were just spectacular.
Also had the opportunity to try their baked goods and my god they were something out of this world.
Highly recommend.

Where to begin.
Its almost a crime to live and have a business blocks away from a restaurant( and never dine in it) that has been in business over 40 years.
After some chatter and clamor for their breakfast and buiscuits...i decided to pull the trigger on having brunch here.
Rex cafe is as old as downtown mcallen with many a memories to behold..many customers swear by the good eateries here...and swap war stories over a cup of fresh coffee....almost...
