We went for breakfast. It's inside the hotel so we parked on the second floor and used the elevator to go down to the first floor. Food was good, my smoked salmon required some assembly with the bagel lol. Service was

Ceviche Tacos are delicious! Wanted a semi lighter dinner and these were just enough! I paired it with a delicious house made Sangria! The perfect treat! One of my favorite local hotels. Very quaint and cozy!

Was staying at a nearby hotel and came here for a weekday dinner. The place was pretty empty so I was seated immediately. ATMOSPHERE: There are seats inside the hotel lobby as well as a dedicated area for the restaurant. Plenty of free parking in the adjacent garage. I thought the place felt historic and cozy, and I liked that it was not crowded or packed. FOOD: I got the honey sriracha "jumbo" wings. They were good, crispy and flavored nicely. They were not "jumbo" at all, they were just normal wings. I did like that they came with a bunch of fries, and you can ask for ranch on the side. I also ordered a bartender's choice cocktail - they currently do not have a cocktail menu. The drink was pretty standard. SERVICE: Really kind. The bartender gave me a ton of local recommendations for restaurants and places to see and was always available for requests. PRICE/VALUE: The place was a bit overpriced for me. The wings were $11 for 6 wings, and the drink was $11. There are other places in the area with better prices for the portions given. Overall, this isn't a "must-try" if in the area, but definitely still a solid option for dinner in a nice, historic-feeling setting.

Amazing staff and quick service with order. Originally was going to order house omelet but joked that unless the waiter could convince me otherwise. Gave me the suggestion to order the Huevos Rancheros, which was cheaper, as his suggestion and clearly not to up charge and his true recommendation, to which could not be upset on the taste.Amazing on taste, great on service with drinks and plating. Met the chef following my meal who wanted my input. Clearly a place that cares what they put out then how much they can make and the quality of their work.

We want to compliment, in particular, our server for two days, Cirilo Mariscal. He is excellent at his job and has a knack for making you feel special. Thank you, Cirilo.

This place was empty when I arrived. Nobody was there and the place was closed. Very disappointed that I had planned this evening and I couldn't even enjoy my time. I planned this day to the tee and I'm very upset that this place was not available and when I asked about my reservation they said they don't accept reservations

good food. Really sticks to your bones. Normally service is great but sometimes you get stuck with the b team. I still recommend though

The Spanish Room was closed for dinner due to a shortage of staff. I ordered my meal at the bar instead and had a delicious key lime pie made from scratch. The next morning, I had a hearty breakfast in the Spanish Room, served by an attentive staff.

First time here it's located inside a hotel. Area was nice and clean, staff was friendly. Eggs Benedict was good the ham could of been heated up, fruit was fresh, potatoes could have been heated up as well. Just seems if you going to pay the amount food could served hot ( temperature wise).

Thee are many fine restaurants in McAllen: Salt, Patio, House Wine, Il Forno, Prime Steak and Seafood, Centennial, El Divino have all provided us with some delightful meals. The Spanish Room at the Casa de Palmas is now on our list. They served the most pristine, chilled properly, Caesar with tasty dressing, a fantastic roast duck, and impressive rib eye. The building and grounds are also most interesting, if one enjoys historic buildings and lush gardens.

The Spanish room was an overall good experience but definitely not fine dining. There was no host, no clear indication of seating. The waitress was unaware of the wine selections. The menu was limited and items were not available. The restaurant closes at 10pm and we were asked to leave at that time.
