Looking for street tacos, we stumbled upon this food truck. They have a few tables to sit and dine in while looking out toward 23rd street. We opted to take our tacos to go. This establishment is small and simple, serving traditional street tacos prepared in a typical food truck. The tacos definitely satisfied our craving.
There are many,many taquerias here in McAllen, some of which my husband and I have yet to try; but out of all the ones that we have tried- Taqueria La Patrona is undoubtedly in my top 5 list. Here you have the options of calling in your order and picking it up, arriving and ordering and taking your food home, or simply taking a seat at one of their tables and dining outside underneath their very well built and placed canopy dining area. We had a very kind and attentive waitress...
Loved their tacos al vapor. We ordered Mixed Tacos al vapor (fried) (2 beans, 2 potato, 1 desebrada, 1 chicharron) and 3 gorditas (1 desebrada, 1 picadillo, 1 frijoles con queso). Affordable prizes and amazing staff.
