When restaurants go the extra mile for their customers, it makes a lot of difference. I eat junk food as if I am on the My 600lb Life show, and the only vegetables I’ve had in the last 10 years are from the Kale Salad at The Cookshack. Omg that kale salad is the best kale salad in the world period. If they had a restaurant closer to north McAllen, I would eat there everyday. Try this place!! It’s a must!

1st time visitor here!Service 10/10 - We were greeted as we walked through the front door. Staff took the time to explain the menu and what was recommended. Table service was pleasant, staff came to the table appropriately and in a timely manner to ask if anything was needed. Table service also included them taking the finished plates away when needed.Atmosphere 10/10 - Awesome vibe, great light fixtures, and appropriate country music playing. (Not too loud either)Food 8.5/10 - Don’t get me wrong, food was delicious and came out quickly. However, my only complaint I had was on the chicken sandwich. I feel as if the dry seasoning wasn’t there for me, maybe I’m too particular, but a fried chicken sandwich with dry seasoning comes off a bit crunchy and sometimes dry. (I would recommend seasoning it with a wet sauce to bring down the crunchy texture) Also - we were presented with a complimentary Kale chicken salad which was to die for. ALSO - another complimentary ice cream sandwich to calm the taste buds down was perfect.Overall, will be coming back!

First time here. Ordered the chicken tenders and waffles and the tenders weren't what I expected. They needed more flavor. The heat factor that have here is awesome tho. Definitely recommend the hot hot selection.
Customer service was great. Chicken was freshly made & very crispy, but the waffles were a bit undercooked in the center. Mac & cheese has a bit of room for improvement, there’s definitely better options out there. The Boujee margarita was very strong and definitely worth the $10.

They messed up our order and put hot sauce on our sandwiches, we had to wait at least 20 minutes for them to "remake" our order (I suspect they just kept the same sandwiches warm) and then the "new" sandwiches were just as hot. My mom is medically sensitive to spicy food and was almost hyperventilating from the spicyness. The Manager's only "solution" was to give us an unseasoned chicken breast. Horrible service.

? was super good . I had the grilled ? on a Hawaiian bun with sweet potatoe waffle fries... The only thing was they skimp out on the fries. Small serving. This almost like bbq joint and u know everything at bbq joints are served big just like Texas... I noticed that portions are small on other plates too. Yes, I do recommend to try out once and I will come again if they invite me.? Happy Health to all....

Decided to try a new place and glad I did! The chicken was very thick and juicy and ribs were fall off the bone and just as juicy and spicy which we loved. Cant wait to come back another time for some more!

It was my first time eating here yesterday and it was amazing! I ordered a chicken sandwich, medium hot, with a side of fries and Texas caviar. It was hot and delicious! My friends ordered chicken tenders, chicken and waffles, and a salad which all looked just as good. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the place was very clean. I'm definitely recommending to others and definitely coming back.

I don't know how to flavor my items personally so I didn't take a big risk but DAMN! Even with no seasoning on my chicken strips (bbq on the side ) it was so good !CUSTOMER SERVICE:100%FOOD:100%SWEET TEA??:100%Pricing: makes my wallet say "really..." but worth it ?With a tip , we paid $45.00 .My husband's food looked so dang good as well! Loved getting greeted once we walked in and the patiences of all the staff. 10/10 will come again!

Great place to get some ribs that fall off the bone very easily and chicken tenders from regular up to burn your mouth! Most places you ask for heat levels and they really are not hot at all. But this place the heat is true to the levels. The sides were also very good, especially the coleslaw and Texas caviar. We ordered a family pack at a reasonable price.

Just found this place today, wasn’t sure what it was, But they do classic chicken sandwiches, tenders and ribs. It was VERY good. I can only comment on the chicken sandwich and fries. They make it to order so the sandwich and fries are fresh and hot! Chicken was big and and juicy as others have reviewed. The coleslaw is a nice balance to any heat.You do choose your heat level no matter what you order. I like heat but did the medium because the heat seemed to be hyped. Medium was pleasant but I’ll try the texas hot next time. Apparently if you order the hottest heat you have to sign a waiver!The chicken sandwich, fries and a drink were $14 and change. I would go back for sure! Oh try the limeade, it’s really good!
