I wish I could give this place 10 stars. If you want to know what real Japanese katsu curry tastes like, then this is the place. Upon first bite, it reminded me of a local place I used to go to when I lived in Japan and brought back memories. I even teared up because I was hit with waves of nostalgia. Katsu curry is really delicious. it's recommended!

The food is amazing and super fresh! I ordered the Korean Chirashi, it’s very similar to a poké bowl. However, you get more fish all generous sizes and very fresh with fresh bed of veggies and rice on the bottom! Also, the sauces on the top ties everything together! Next time I will add a photo. I ate it before thinking of taking a photo. Please get it! It’s extremely delicious!

The food was great I loved it! But for some reason they got a new waitress which was VERY RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! They charged me wrong and I asked for help with getting my money back and the new waitress which I got to get her name. Cynthia told another waiter she wouldn’t help fix giving me my money back because I was a RUDE customer for asking for a refund on something I didn’t get. Which I then stated if she had nothing nice to say for her not to say anything and it wasn’t very professional. I also mentioned I’ve never been rude nor mean to her and she decided to lash out and yell at me in front of other customers say I was rude all because I asked if I can have a refund back of something I didn’t order. I never spend more then 14$ there. So when I got changed almost 19$ I asked why it was so much I got. Barged for a jalapeño and a sushi roll wrong, then she got mad. I loved the food it was great but she was very rude and unprofessional . Makes me not want to go again!

Didn't like the food here, I ordered Jajangmyeon noodles and they had absolutely no flavor, tasted like boiled soggy noodles. The korean rice sucked also. The service wasn't all that great either, I asked for utensils, and they took about 15 mins to take them to us, and the restaurant wasn't full, just and another family. Never going to that place again.

I ordered the spicy stir fry squid from the dinner entree menu and they literally just gave me a plate of squid… no rice or veggies, when u order stir fry it’s usually rice and veggies and then the protein. I had to ask for steamed rice… when u search up a photo of ‘spicy stir fry squid’ it’s rice, veggies, and squid… won’t come back here again. Would recommend to ask what comes with the dinner entree before ordering. Also the waiter was very slow to ask for our order mind u there was only two other tables, but a different waitress was serving the two other tables. The waiter that was serving my table honestly didn’t know any answers to our questions

My wife's family were regulars back in the day, and finally, it was my turn to experience it for the first time. Right from the start, I was impressed. Parking was a breeze, the restaurant gleamed with cleanliness, and the food tasted as fresh as can be. But what truly stole the show was our server, Maggie. Her impeccable customer service left us in awe. Not only did she meticulously wipe down our already spotless table, but she even sanitized the high chair for our son. As a parent who's always cautious, her attention to detail truly set a positive tone for our evening. The grilled squid and tempura shrimp were a delightful start, setting the bar high for the rest of the meal. I opted for the steak teriyaki, which my two-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed – a rare feat indeed! Meanwhile, my wife's choice of fried rice left such an impression that I found myself scarfing it down at 3 am. Tokyo Sushi Bar, you've gained a loyal fan in me.

I've tried many Dragon Rolls before here in McAllen, but none have come close to the perfection of Tokyo Sushi Bar's rendition. From the GENEROUS amount of crab meat and unagi eel meat to the perfectly crispy tempura, every bite was a delight.The McAllen Roll was also a pleasant surprise, holding its own against the Dragon Roll in terms of taste and quality to the same level. Even the wasabi and ginger portions were generous, which is rare to see these days esp. for a take out.Overall, we are THRILLED to have found our new favorite sushi spot. That was really bad. We wanted Asian and the Yasuke ramen place down the street is where we WANTED to go but they had an hour wait. Nothing else was open so we came here and it just made the night even more disappointing. I got the teriyaki chicken and my husband got the shrimp ramen. Just bad. Waitress was very nice though.
