EXCEPTIONAL Sushi Spot!My husband and I recently ordered delivery from Tokyo Sushi Bar for the first time, and we were absolutely blown away! We ordered the Dragon Roll and McAllen Roll, 4 rolls total for $65, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint.Having lived in California for over 25 years and now residing in McAllen for 1.5 years, I consider myself quite the sushi enthusiast seeking a level of quality and taste. I've tried many Dragon Rolls before here in McAllen, but none have come close to the perfection of Tokyo Sushi Bar's rendition. From the GENEROUS amount of crab meat and unagi eel meat to the perfectly crispy tempura, every bite was a delight.The McAllen Roll was also a pleasant surprise, holding its own against the Dragon Roll in terms of taste and quality to the same level. Even the wasabi and ginger portions were generous, which is rare to see these days esp. for a take out.Overall, we are THRILLED to have found our new favorite sushi spot. If you're a picky eater like me who appreciates quality, do yourself a favor and give Tokyo Sushi Bar a try. You won't be disappointed!Compliments to the sushi chef(s) for their exceptional work. We'll definitely be ordering from here again & moving forward!!Also, their kind hostess Cynthia was patient & amazing. That was really bad.We wanted Asian and the Yasuke ramen place down the street is where we WANTED to go but they had an hour wait. Nothing else was open so we came here and it just made the night even more disappointing. I got the teriyaki chicken and my husband got the shrimp ramen. Just bad. Waitress was very nice though.

Very chill day today. We arrived with three people, expecting a fourth. Then an unexpected fifth person came. The staff was very attentive and patient.I enjoyed a Sapporo beer, sweet tea, a sushi roll called Dragon roll and a heart atttack appetizer. All delicious.Total came out to $34.48. Good price for quality.

Food was amazing. Tried the pork curry and a Philadelphia roll. Food was so good I wish I could make it at home myself. Small staff so there was some wait but the restaurant was comfortable so not a problem and in the end it was worth it.

The only thing I can suggest is that some sort of lofi Japanese style music play in the background because the restaurant is silent which makes for an awkward environment. The restaurant has a lot of potential to draw in larger crowds.

Food is fantastic but the place is clearly understaffed. A relatively simple order took over an hour to be processed and there was 1 person waiting on all the tables. The service is good, it is not the workers fault they are understaffed. Can’t give it a full 5 stars with the wait time and the understaffing.

Tokyo is not the new kid in town by any means. They were the first! I tried Sushi for the first time at Tokyo Sushi in 1999. I stopped in recently and had a delicious meal. I had a freshwater eel Nigeria, a rainbow roll and the McAllen roll. Yum!
