Walked into the restaurant, on a very cold rainy day; the low was 40F (Sunday, January 21, 2024). Three of us walked inside expecting warmth, with a 4 month old baby. However, the restaurant was very cold inside. Upon entering the building, we were met with a small heater facing one table only; the table where the owner appeared to be dining at. The heater was small enough to only heat 1 person. The central heat appeared to be off, and we were extremely cold. As we were led to the table, we watched as the owner sat down and ate a buffet of food, with the heater all for himself, very selfishly. With seeing this, I realized that this establishment lacked customer service, not only so, but the owner lacked empathy or compassion. I don’t understand how he could eat in warmth, while watching a family, who are paying customers, with a baby, be very uncomfortable. My husband also informed the owner about how cold and uncomfortable this place was, and he just grinned and smiled—what HORRIBLE attitude you’ve got sir. FIX IT! I know you’re bound to read this review. We’re in America, not Vietnam. TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS CORRECTLY! What goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. This tells me ALOT about the type of business he runs, which is why I walked out of this establishment and headed over to Hop Tung Vietnamese Chinese Restaurant in McAllen and had the best chicken PHO, I’ve ever had. My husband and I are military folks and have been around the world, and this was by far the BEST we’ve had. We dropped about 400 USD here, tipped the server really well, and tried an assortment of great food they had. We don’t reside in the RGV, but came to visit family and friends, and when we come down here, we like to splurge ! I recommend Hop Tung for folks that have hard earned money and want to enjoy their food comfortably at a great price and environment. Unfortunately, I WILL not EVER come back to Xin Xin and will tell others the same.

Been looking for a decent Chinese food place for a long while. We stumbled across this place driving by and I just absolutely LOVE this food!! The chicken is actually chicken not overly breaded at all, if any. The sauces are so good and on point. Cooked to order. The white rice is a little over dry but it’s better than wet and undercooked lol.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Multiple times with the same lady at the front we have ordered vegetable rolls and received pork ones, usually just accepting the loss despite not being able to eat pork. This time when ordered we confirmed vegetable rolls as we bought $50 worth of them, and once again we received pork, went inside to let them know and asked to receive the correct ones, and the same lady argued despite having opened a roll to show her it was pork and she still refused to have it remade or refund the incorrect order, she was horribly rude. It’s been a repeat issue, and none of us will ever be coming back after such horrible costumer service over their own mistake.

The worst service I have ever had. Been going here for YEARS for the fried rolls…even after getting the wrong order multiple times. Spoke to the lady over the phone for five minutes to explain the exact order I wanted and still got it wrong. When trying to explain that I received the wrong rolls she dismissed me. They gave me pork and shrimp rolls and now half of my vegan family can not eat them. Horrible service. Will never come back.

I’ve tried several dishes from here over the last few years and I’m never disappointed. Every time I try something new I am kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Love this restaurant and really appreciate that they have a drive through :)
All I have to say is that ¡I DONT Recommend! this place, I had better Asian cuisine in the valley, better price and flavor.Also it seems that if your sharing a plate, you might get charge extra (or we got overcharged, because we order 3 meals and paid if it was 4 unless they charge for glasses of water).

If I could post 0 stars Went in to try and eat at 815 pm Was rudely told by the lady at the register that they close at 9 and unless we wanted to get kicked out promptly at 9 to not eat there. I then called after leaving and requested to speak with a manager. And she let me know there was no one available to speak with me and she was in the restaurant alone. Assuming she cooks the food and handles the store too I guess LOL. no one was able to hear my concern poor customer service. When I asked for her name she kept telling me she couldn’t help. If this is how you treat your customers letting business go before close maybe you should change your business hours forbid the old hag at the register has to work any harder then she already does for her minimum wage job.

The restaurant building is a modest eatery that doesn’t match the flavor of the food! Every dish we tried was amazingly good. The food is freshly prepared at the time of order-no precooked nonsense here. The hot tea is wonderful. It is a small dining room, but the wait for a table is worth it. The service was good considering they are search of waiters/waitresses. As far as Chinese cooking goes, I would definitely recommend!?
