Centro On The Square

So expensive for the little amount of food. Slow service. Food is good but worth the amount we paid.

Classiest fine dining restaurant in McKinney, but with a welcoming, non-pretentious atmosphere. Great for date nights or any day of the week when you want to have a great meal. The menu was creative, but with some classic favorites to choose from as well. The food was extremely tasty, with large enough portions to share. The waitstaff was the icing on the cake. Very attentive and helpful. Centro is one of those places that you leave happy for trying it out, and eager to make it your regular. We will be back! Oh yeah...check out their wine list, you won't be disappointed.

love everything about this place! I ordered the spicy rigatoni with extra basil and they offered to do a basil oil (?) drizzle and add crumbled fried basil bits. IT WAS SO YUM. we were celebrating 3 birthdays and they gave us free desserts as bday gifts! lovely staff and lovely environment. (:

I had an excellent dining experience here. Every dish was beautifully prepared, the staff were professional and welcoming, and the ambiance made the whole evening feel special.

The food was really not very good. The steak was overcooked and the fries were cold. Ordered an old fashioned and there was absolutely nothing in it but whiskey straight. Will not be back.

Firstly - the atmosphere gorgeous perfect Italian date night style or girls night spot. We were lucky to have Mission as our server he was awesome and one of the best servers we’ve ever had. The food was spot on perfect comfort food options or some steak and seafood options as well. Good dessert options the tiramisu is super cute. I wish i took more pictures!! The whole restaurant is very NY Chicago vibes. It’s hard to find a place like this outside of Dallas super excited to have found it. The hostess who greeted us at the door was very sweet as well. We are super excited about how this place turned out. Thanks mission and thanks centro 😊

Delicious dinner and appetizers with friends. The calamari was exceptionally tasty and prepared correctly. We each had a different Italian entre, all of which were delicious.

This was my first visit at centro. It will be a staple in my rotation now. Arlenne gave me some of the best service I have ever received. She was so nice and attentive, and very welcoming. Coming back here for her and her only.

We have been to centro on the square 6 times now and honestly love the younger yet bright and professional staffing I have to say the hiring managers had to have hit a jackpot and even one of our favorite managers is probably 25 tops but extremely mature and better than most older more experienced people at other steakhouses. The waitstaff is accommodating, knowledgeable, and sprightly which is a rare find in upscale dining. I’d definitely recommend them for an enjoyable dining experience. Food is much improved since the fires time we came it was originally either over or undercooked but ir seems they’ve smoothed over any kitchen issues they originally had. Connie has also been reassuring and accommodating of our requests. Our most recent server Mission was the highlight of our day and I don’t remember the name of our first server but he was great as well very professional a taller guy we wish we had his name!! The host a younger guy also was super sweet with my elderly mother.

We have given Centro ample time & at least 6 visits in order to give them time to acclimate to the menu, location & service opportunities. Having been in the service industry myself for at least 20 years, I understand how difficult it is to hire the right people, perfect an ever changing menu & give the customer an amazing experience. The newest bartender & young energetic manager is a positive addition. That being said, we’ve had undercooked meatballs, undercooked salmon, a bartender who completely forgot to order my boyfriend’s entree & did not comp it when it came. The airline chicken is not an adequate option. I got locked inside the bathroom one time. Another time the older bartender informed me that even though I had arrived at opening & was first to sit down at the bar, he was going from left to right down the line & that I would just have to wait to order a drink or receive a glass of water. Furthermore, the bartenders & management look at you like you have 3 heads when asked to take your wine to go. McKinney Square is an open container policy which every single restaurant/bar adheres to but definitely not Centro. So you better finish your drink inside their doors. I was really excited for Centro on the Square to open thinking it would be an addition to our favorite spots to enjoy but in fact it definitely IS NOT. We walk right past everyday as we live on the square. I wish I didn’t have to write this review but they just are not getting their act together at all. We’ve decided that it is poor management. The way it’s going, we doubt they’ll be open long.

We had a great experience at centro on the square our server mission was great he wasn’t just a server also super entertaining and sweet with me and my daughter yet professional with his service. They have gluten free, vegan, kids menu and dairy free options available if necessary and are very good about allergies. Our server described the dessert menu to us and helped us select what we’d both enjoy. I’d highly recommend centro for either a family dinner celebration or for a quick lunch if you are going on a week day. It seems pretty slow during lunch but the service is still attentive and all of the staff are up front. The manager Connie stopped by our table and spoke with us briefly making sure everything was good. Thank you centro we will be back!

I will recommend Centro to anyone! The food, the atmosphere, the service- everything is absolutely top knotch. 10/10! I can’t wait to go back!
