I visited here last night which it was my third time visiting, the first visit the food was amazing! I had curry chicken. The second time the food was ok, I had takeout which was curry and oxtail. Yesterday I ordered rum punch which was good. I also ordered the oxtails and got what seemed like scraps, about a cup size worth of oxtails for $43. Which came with a side of rice and peas and cabbage, the cabbage was overly soft and seemed like it was a couple days old the rice and peas were either over cooked or reheated to where the peas where busted and dryed out. I also ordered jerk chicken, this chicken had to be reheated more than once the skin was overcooked to the point it was burnt, chewy, and had no flavor. It was dark meat and over cooked to the point there was no moisture other than the sauce it was topped with. Extremely disappointing especially when my final bill inclusive of the mandatory dine in gratuity was $90. I won’t be going again.
01-7-2026 These people needs a trip to a island so that they can learn how to embrace a culture they claim they are apart of. Went there today for the first time to support and try out the supposedly Jamaican food. Tried the oxtail dinner and the cold ship to the store beef patty and Jerk wings. The food was disappointing as the service was while not being greeted walking through the door of a business for the first time. My oxtail plate and beef patty was cold. I was sold fat for oaxtail and made a reference to the young man that my food was cold. He ask me do you need me to heat it up in the microwave. I refuse that gesture so fast after waiting 45min already for what they knew was cold and not fresh at all food they sent to my table. Some people are not in buisness for the right reason. No manager or lead came over to assist with my concerns or frustration about a product there selling as Jamican food. This was one of the most horrible experiences I had at any restaurants in the city of Mckinney. Being from Massachusetts being able to experience this kind of food at a high level has taught me from my eating experience this is the lowest of low eats I ever ate. I'm warning the hard working people of my community please stay away to avoid the let down and if your in the mood of Just giving your hard earn money away please uplift someone that is asking for help. Clearly when you have a issue no one is ready to solve your needs at this bootleg Jamican Restaurants. My bill came up to $86.00 and I left a $14.00 tip despite me not being able to eat my beef patty, fatty Oaxtail and cold leftover rice and peas with plantinos that seems like it was cooked in a bottle a grease and not even double fried. I learnt my lesson from this experience you can't support all restaurants just because they slap a name on a building.

Stay Away! Waist of $100 for 1 plate of fatty, tough ox tails that took over 45 min wait. Cold store box beef patties. Greens and rice were cold as well. Waiter asked to reheat it?!! How, in the microwave? Don't trust that. Wasn't even busy, and I see why. After loosing the the battle with the fat, waiter asked if we need to Box it?? This place is a joke. The managers were 2 tables down and didnt even bother to come over and do quality control.
Overpriced is not even the right discussion here when the food is gross. Coming from Boston myself, I've had plenty and this ain't it. They aren't even Jamaican, just an -ish (like Jamaican) please be authentic in the 2026, can we?! Recommendation: Take the ride and chances to go to Arlington if ya need your real Jamaican or make it yourself.

I visited this restaurant with a bit of reluctance after visiting once right after it initially opened up. During my original/initial visit, it took about an hour to receive my takeout order but I attributed this to possible first week issues.
In my most recent visit last week, I decided to dine in with a friend. When we entered the restaurant someone seated us but we sat for over minutes before we were attended to...there was no menu on the table and the restaurant had a few tables in service (nothing taxing). Finally, someone came over and asked if we had been attended to by another employee and provided us with a menu qr code and water. After waiting a further 10-15mins and receiving no service, we left to try find a restaurant that wanted to serve its customers.
While this restaurant could be a good a good one, neither of my experiences reflect this. What is reflected and seems to be a common theme through these reviews.
This place has good potential to be a 4 - 5 restaurant but needs to make much needed staffing improvements.

Customer service was horrible, waited 45 minutes and food came out cold! The jerk chicken is over cooked and not real jerk! The oxtail are small and not tender! Even the beef patties were cold! I highly was disappointed! 60 dollars wasted

I had a great experience at Raggae Jerk Hut! I ordered the oxtail tacos and wow - they were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Oh my goodness, the cocktails were just as amazing, perfectly made and so refreshing. The customer service was lovely and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I’m definitely going back!
