I am the executive chef for the W hotel in dallas, and after a long thanksgiving of cooking for over 1,700 guests I came home hungry and was happy to see that Rice Lovers was one of the few stores open.Not only did the delivery driver have us walk two blocks to meet himbut the FOOD was disgusting.I’ve worked in many Thai & Japanese kitchens, and I appreciate the standards and process of how fried rice, lo mein, and brown sauce is made. And here they weren’t executed with any flavor or care.The Honey Garlic chicken was tempura fried with 92% breading on the end result, but what happens is when tempura is fried at a high temperature, it expands and puffs up which gives it the light and airy texture.My chicken was non existent. All breading and soaked in raw honey.The lo mein was made with rice noodles which is a terrible idea next to having zero flavor.From one chef to another, take pride in your food.This shows you have none.

I come back and bring all food to the restaurant owner and he refused to return my money saying food is ok“I BEEN SELLING MY FOOD FOR 24 YEARS AND IS THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE COMPLAINS “Yeahh ! Right! Ordered via phone after looking at website menu on Menufy. Went in to pickup order and male owner gave me the total. I asked to look at the receipt. Noticed my two entrees we're not the price shown on their website but 3.00 more each. Showed the owner the price on the website and all he said was he has to go by the price in the computer. Didn't offer to charge me the price on the website. Told him he could keep the order and he said okay. Didn't care that now he lost a repeat customer when everytime I've gone in the past there's only been one or two tables occupied. Think every business transaction is of value.. Apparently not. Definitely price scammer..

This place is sucks!! I have the worst experience ever. The attendant try to over charge my bill saying that prices on the menu are wrong. He was so rude and mad and finishing saying I don’t want to see you back here… what a great customer service!! Plus food was so salty. Mr. attendant you will no see me never again in this place. Please change the name to “Customers Heater’s”

Don’t go here - they lie about their prices. You’ll be charged double. They will argue about their menu prices. Absurd. And the food isn’t even good. Go to Goody’s or Forever Pho - don’t come here.

We've been coming to Rice Lovers since we first moved to McKinney back in 2004. For the past 17 years they've been one of our favorite local restaurants. Great service and friendly owners. They do a lot of to-go orders, but we've personally never done that. We like to dine in the restaurant. When my parents come into town this also one of the places they always want to visit.
Sub par. Also if you are a black or brown person you have to go through extra levels of security. To get your food. The driver's are very rude as well.

My wife and I have ordered food from Rice Lover's a few times a year over the past several years. I always notice some inconsistency in food quality at this place however our latest order was absolutely terrible. The hot and sour soup might as well have been labeled 'warm water'. The hot sauce chicken was basically the same.. it was bad. This is the first review I've ever written.. it was that bad. I took it back and got a refund.. again, something I've never done before. I got to watch the waiter take the food back to the back where I could see two cooks laughing as they spoke. Yuk, yuk, and yuk.. never again.

The food is mediocre to poor. I ordered a vegetable fried rice and my veggies taste like they came straight from the garden. The customer service is not all that. The kitchen looks dirty so I was hesitant about eating my food. This was my first and last time visiting here.

I'm giving these guys 5 stars for amazing service. Wr had a severe winter storm here in Dallad area and their power was out. But with gas stoves a blazing for cooking and flashlights they managed to cook an fantastic meal for 7. Thank You!!
