Americano double shots waked me up, not only by it’s taste but also smell which is quite different from what I have had before. Awesome aromatic, anyone visiting the historic McKinney has to try it.

Spoons Café - Downtown (McKinney)
Nothing really to brag home about. Food was average, if you can qualify it as average. Home cooked meals taste better. Service was ok, not great.
Came here with my family to enjoy a good lunch and service. They have a large picture of “D Magazine” claiming that they are good. That’s certainly not accurate.
I did like the old feel to it, with old brick throughout interior. Made you feel like you stepped back in time. However, service was poor. As new customers were walking in, including my family, they would sit us down at a dirty table and ask if we wanted it wiped clean.
That’s very unprofessional and I’m surprised the health department hasn’t paid them a visit. The pink rose cake looked very creative and delicious on the display. The old and foggy cover on it, wasn’t. It looked like it was purchased from Antique store.
Food was very blend and average. Not sure in good faith I’d recommend this place.

First we tried to go to The Garage and were told it is only 18 and up ( nowhere did it say 18 and up only) and were directed to Spoons next door. We asked for a party of 6 for brunch. The hostess took my name and phone number but couldn’t give a wait time. We sat and watched as 4 other parties who came after us were sat before us. They had a table for 6 cleared off and separated it for two parties of 3. Then separated another table of 6 for a table of four. Sat another table of 6 with only 3 people, their full party didn’t arrive until 10 minutes later.
My dad tried to sit at the bar that had stools and was told he couldn’t sit there. He then asked why there were stools and the bartender told him he didn’t know. He then asked if he could just grab a drink and was told no he needed to wait for a table. My husband goes to the bathroom and walks out, and guess what there’s a man sitting at the bar.
We will never be back again.

A restaurant is only as good as the worst meal they send out of the kitchen. Today I had probably the worst chicken fried steak I've ever had. They burned it to a crisp and sent it out anyway. It's frustrating because of all the good reviews and the good looking food I saw on other people's plates.
First time to try - we got the chips & salsa w/queso, salmon dinner, comfort cup with meatloaf, and key lime pie & triple chocolate cheesecake. All the food was delicious, and the waitstaff was very attentive. The only ‘complaint’ was that the table was sticky but they did their best to wipe it off.
Would definitely eat here again if we’re ever in town!!

We had a party of 5 on a Monday for lunch, it wasn’t a super busy day. We had 3 of us ready to sit and order our drinks and maybe an appetizer. The other two were finding up buying shoes across the street. They wouldn’t seat us! Open tables and would not seat 3 of us for drinks and appetizers. Lost out on probably a $150 ticket on a slow day, and any future service. The hostess was super cold not friendly about it either.

Service was decent, food was below average for price
The most bland chicken and waffles I ever had. The decor wasn't great. My friend and I were sitting by a vintage safe and it was dusty. Our waitress was just okay. She seemed rushed. I definitely won't be back. There are much better restaurants in McKinney than this place.

A perfect place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Has the small town charm that you’re looking for combined with friendliness of staff to match. The food too is good and the right size portions and value.
Great work!
