We visited veg palace twice once for lunch and another time for their buffet breakfast.
1. For lunch we had a South Indian thali and North Indian thali
The North Indian thali was very good.
The spinach dal and paneer curry was really good.
The thali cost 9.99$.
2. The breakfast buffet items tasted good but some items(idiyappam) arrived only at 10am.
Even plain dosa, juice were kept only at 9:30am.
So we did not get a chance to taste all items.
It would be good if they have all items by 9am at least.
The buffet cost 11.99$.

I went to the Veg Palace lunch buffet and absolutely loved it. The ambience was very good, and the food quality was even better. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to all vegetarian food lovers.

Breakfast buffet was delayed by 45 minutes. we arrived at 8.45 and had to wait for 30 minutes.
Food is good quality. Good ambience. hard working staff.
The breakfast buffet is priced at $11.99. I feel it's a bit pricier when compared to other similar restaurants in Allen, plano and other areas of DFW.

Tried the weekend Sat buffet for lunch. Was decent enough. all the North Indian curries and naan have a sweet note to them. South Indian options were really good. Overall a lot of variety to try for. Will probably go back

One of the worst service I have ever seen. All the items are not refilled properly. Lot of items are missed. Even there are no glasses for drinking water. 1-2 items are good. I feel there should be one manager who can manage all these things. I feel the same review from other customers as well.

This place was extremely disappointing. They kept signing up new customers, telling everyone that the buffet trays would be refilled, but nothing was actually refilled. There was hardly any food available, and whatever was left felt like we were constantly asking for food as if it was being given to us for free.
What made it worse was the lack of basic courtesy — there was no apology, no acknowledgment, and no effort to fix the situation. The staff seemed completely indifferent every time we asked about refilling items.
Many of the dishes they advertised were not available at all, and the buffet setup was poorly managed. The overall experience was frustrating, embarrassing, and poorly handled.
This was truly a pathetic experience, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Definitely not worth your time or money.
This was one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve had. When we arrived, there was barely any food left, and it honestly felt like we were being served leftover food from earlier customers.
They advertised kheema biryani, but the tray was completely empty. I asked the staff if it would be refilled, and they didn’t even bother to respond properly or show any concern. The overall attitude of the staff was careless and unprofessional.
Many items that were mentioned were not available at all — no apricot delight, no different types of dosa as advertised. The only dishes I could find were dal makhani and mutter curry. Even the paneer curry had no paneer in it, which was shocking.
The entire place looked messy and unhygienic, including the buffet area. It was very uncomfortable to eat there. The service was extremely poor, and to make things worse, no owner or manager was available on-site to address these issues.
I would strongly advise people to avoid this place unless you are among the very first customers — otherwise, you’re likely to be left with empty trays and poor service. Overall, not worth the money or the time.

Restaurantji Recommends
My experience at The Veg Palace in McKinney, TX was absolutely frustrating and far below expectations. The service was pathetic and the food was painfully ordinary, nowhere near what you’d expect from a vegetarian specialty restaurant.
The front desk kept signing up customers nonstop, but the reality inside was chaos. The buffet trays were empty most of the time, and there was no urgency or concern from the staff to refill them. What’s the point of advertising a buffet when there’s barely any food available?
To make matters worse, I asked for water and had to wait nearly 20 minutes—for WATER. That alone says everything about the level of service here. No apologies, no accountability, just complete indifference.
Overall, this place fails both in food quality and customer service. If you’re looking for good vegetarian food or even a decent restaurant experience, I strongly recommend avoiding The Veg Palace. Very disappointing and definitely not worth your time or money.
Had to Give One Star because Google doesn’t allow to give Zero.
Buffet service is very poor. Food items are not being filled promptly, and the filled items are prepared in haste. No adequate staff to clean or take care of buffet. Even you have to wait for plates and cutlery. Complete waste of money. They can choose to stop the service if they can't meet the demand. Instead they let in people and offer empty buffet dishes leaving us to figure out what dish to scrape from.

This review is for their weekend buffet.
Food: Quality of food is exceptional, everything tasted great. Masala dosa was a joke, burnt and barely any masala!
Service: This needs lot of work, I would think of this as a growing pains if it was a fairly new restaurant, but they have been open for a good 6 months.
Lunch buffet was supposed to start at 11:30, buffet stations were not filled till almost 11:40, we were asked to wait but people who came in before us were already eating food. Cheese pizza was ready by the time we were with our lunch.
Hygiene: I would give zero if this rating is purely based on hygiene. People were going back to buffet station with same plates and dirty hands. They do not enforce, clean plates.
For a ‘fine dining’ this place has missed the point.
I will not be going back to this place, unless this policy changes.
