Went to the drive-thru for the 1st time and it was fantastic. Bryan in the drive-thru window was so helpful in explaining the menu and his recommendations were terrific, his personality even better. I tried the wings, lean brisket and torpedos - all were on point. The food was excellent but the customer service exceptional. Go see Bryan, he's the best!

I can't believe HEB, a Texas store chain, would call this BBQ or allow it in their stores. I've had BBQ in all corners of the country and this by far is the worst I've ever had. I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich and ended up with fat on a bun sandwich. The sausage you get on the shelf is superior to their garbage sausage. I should have grabbed a bottle of Franklin's BBQ sauce off the shelf before going in to avoid their slop in a cup they call sauce. If you are considering True Texas BBQ at HEB for the first time and reading this, please save your money and go to Dickie's. At least you know you're getting garbage there.

I love their BBQ but i think its on the expensive side. Ibalways order the bahn mi. Pros Taste great, fresh meat and customizable Cons Bread is super hard. They need to toast it.

Food is excellent and the customer service is even better. Bryan at the window went above and beyond helping me with my large family order. His recommendations, assistance and kindness made for a pleasant visit. Always always coming back to this spot!

Easy self serve kiosk or live help ordering. A little bit of a wait for prep time, but reasonable order completion. Smoky hot goodness. Skimpy on the fixings.

My meal was a little over 7 dollars. That included a bottled 1.00 drink and a sliced turkey sandwich with BBQ sauce. I dined in. It may have been because I was fairly hungry getting here, but the food was pretty stinking good. Definitely better than Dickeys. The meat was tender and fell apart in my mouth. It wasn't that juicy but what made up for it was the thickness and flavor. There was a peppery taste to the BBQ sauce which went very well with the smoked meat. The size was good, or fair for the price. I did want pulled beef but the price was over 9 after tax for that. A little more steep than turkey. The bun was crisp on top and soft to bite into. The meat was warm but not hot. The BBQ sauce was cold. But again, I was too hungry to care. There wasn't a line today (Wednesday afternoon) and I was able to order immediately upon entering. Tables were clean, atmosphere was nice. There's a large selection of sweet teas I wish Id tried. I'll definitely be back for that though. A regular drink was 2.25. my drink was a lime mineral water. I'm used to sparkling water so it was really delicious. Nice lime flavor true to what it was. Very bubbly. They did have a flavor on the prompter I couldn't order that was discontinued. The mango mineral water. Wish I could've tried it. Overall I'll be back to try more later. Bring 15 or so dollars to eat a decent meal.

It’s convenient and service has been pretty good. Their fatty brisket is the highlight.During this visit they had the brisket Bahn Mi, which was very good. The fresh jalapeños, cabbage vinaigrette salad paired very well with the fatty brisket. If they had used Vietnamese or a version of their bakery’s pan Frances it would’ve a solid sandwich.

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit TTB, but if you happen to want a quick bite before grocery shopping, it is conveniently located within HEB grocery store. Three of us came at lunchtime on a weekday. I ordered the special Banh Mi sandwich, but they were out of the bread. Sad. So, I had brisket nachos. They aren't bad, but didn't have any sort of salsa, chopped tomato component that would have made them much tastier. My hubby got sliced brisket, which a a bit dry. They do have sodas/ ice tea refill station, so if you are thirsty... that's a plus. For a fast-food BBQ place it was ok.

I am absolutely appalled when I got home and opened my meal to find 2 bacon size strips of beef brisket for $10. They have permanently lost my business.

I tried the barbeque for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. The only deficit was that they didn't have any barbecued chicken. Turkey just isn't the same. Their selection of sides was much better than average, and everything tasted good. I will be back.

Love the BBQ and the service. We love the casual ambiance and family-friendly staff. My hubby and I have dined in once and ordered takeout, as well as driven through several times now since they opened. It had become one of our favorite BBQ places near us, 5 minutes door to door! The moist brisket and ribs are our favorite, as well as the El Heffe and El Jeffa sandwiches. But our new favorite is the amazing new Banh-Mi Brisket sandwich! Delicious, juicy & spicy, just like we like our food. Our favorite BBQ in town is Hutchins BBQ on east side downtown McKinney, but their prices have risen so much, we can only afford to go once a year as a family, and maybe another time just the two of us. True Texas BBQ is our very close 2nd favorite here, not even kidding. We appreciate the reasonable prices, but especially the delicious food that fills us up and keeps us coming back. So happy to have H-E-B and True Texas BBQ super close to us finally. We didn't know what all the fuss was about because so many people around us were talking up how amazing they are, but now that they're here, and we've been there and tried it for ourselves, we believe them.
