The food was great. And for the price the amount was awesome. Very small and cozy place. Not many restaurants here in Mercedes that I have found to be good. But definitely we will be back
My Dad wanted to go to Don Betos in Mercedes before going to the Outlet Stores. Dad even ran into some friends from back in the day. Don Betos is a Mom and Pop restaurant and the decor and food matches this neighborhood old school concept. I felt as tho I was eating a plate at someone's mother's house, partly due to the plastic Holiday themed table covers. The servers were great, nice and very friendly. I got the plain migas, they were okay, just okay. The beans looked over cooked and maybe a bit old. The coke can that was brought to me was very dirty from the top. They seemed to be low on food products and a manager ( I think a manager) was not even aware. Maybe just a bad day for them today.
