It’s a hole in the wall! But it’s worth the trip for sure! We came to Merkel for a Going Home our coC preacher recommended and he was not wrong! We drove out of our way to eat there a 2nd time before flying out of DFW IAP the smothered chicken was as perfect as the first time. Don’t let the outside look fool you. Great service. And seriously the food is 10/10 amazing. I got the fish platter and will be back.. and for you salsa lovers, they make there salsa homemade.
Starting with the food, its great!
The rest not so much. The place is filthy! Like I hope the kitchen is at least clean. Bottles of oxygen behind the bathroom door! The bathroom was barley accessible for me and my toddler, cant imagine a wheelchair getting in!
The staff seems urgent and upset, like they were not happy, maybe its the workplace or maybe its the fact that it was ROASTING inside, 90 outside probably hotter inside. My husband had to take our toddler...
