This place used to be so good. I'm not sure if there is a new cook but the food doesn't taste as nearly as good as it used to. The last 3 times I've been, I was disappointed. The jerk chicken no longer has the smoked flavor, and the seasoning is not as flavoful as it use to be. The food also didn't taste freshly cooked. I am a chef myself, and I know fresh food.
So I came back to change my rating

I was in Dallas & decided to try it out after seeing this place on TikTok. It definitely didn’t disappoint! The owner of the restaurant was so sweet & very welcoming! The food was delicious. It stayed hot until I made it 30 minutes back to my hotel! I will definitely be back anytime I’m in the Dallas area.
I got the Jerk chicken, oxtails, rice peas & collaloo.

Every time we order food over the phone, we wait the 20-30 minutes they say it will take before picking it up. Every time we pick it up, we have waited an additional 20-30 minutes to get our food, so our lunch time is over. The food is always great, but I only work in the area, so lunch is the only time I can make it. I just wish they would be more accurate with the wait times. It's always several people waiting when we go. Unfortunately, we probably won't return due to that because I can't be late returning from a lunch break and not having ate. But if you have that time to spare, the food is on point and really good.

I had the escovitch fish added a side of plantains, and it was delicious! Chubby (I believe that's your name) that seasoning on the snapper was perfect and the sauce......I asked for it on the side, however, placed it on the fish, and oh man.....AMAZING! I will return!

Stopped by this place to get an oxtail dinner for myself and my sister (after all, we were from out of town and thought, "how bad could it be?"). We waited about 30 minutes and while waiting smelled something burning. It was quite interesting to find that the burned oxtail ended up in my and my sister's plate. We were quite hungry and stopped in for food on our way to the airport. I must say, the chef CANNOT COOK!!!! The only thing that was sufficient was the plantain. I cook oxtail as often as I desire to, and I was disappointed to say the least for spending $44 for what I call, food I would not cook for a husband! This is just me giving a candid review from my and my sister's palate. If the oxtail tasted disgusting, I cannot imagine what anything else on the menu tastes like. This is for an innocent patron looking for a delicious meal. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!

I ordered the curry shrimp with plantains, rice, and peas, and it was an absolute 10/10! The curry shrimp was seasoned to perfection with the right balance of spices, while the shrimp itself was tender and fresh. The plantains were perfectly caramelized, adding a sweet contrast to the savory curry. The rice and peas were flavorful and the ideal accompaniment to the dish. Overall, an incredible meal with authentic flavors!

I JUST WANT SOME GOOD JAMAICAN FOOD ??????

I went yesterday ( 9/27/24 ) ordered a stew chicken for my lady. Ordered a combination of curry goat and oxtails for myself. We waited over an hour. Once the food ready the server brought it out to me. I checked it no goat in the bag. I gave it back to the server I hear her tell the cooks she need goat. So I sit back down and wait a little longer . The server brought the bag back out to me. I see there’s goat I see my oxtail everything‘s in the bag so it seems. Once I get home open my oxtail. I realize most of it is jerk chicken. instead of them telling me they ran out of oxtail they just packed jerk chicken under the few oxtail that they gave me.And sorry to say, but the curry goat was trash……. $53 down the drain…Not even my first time going to that restaurant , but it’s my last

I ordered two separate orders over the phone. I get there to pick it up the lady at the front is extremely rude. You would think I was bothering her for wanting to pay with card for one and cash for the other. I get all the way home. I have the wrong order. I ordered 1 large oxtail & 1 large jerk chicken. I get the oxtails, but instead of jerk I got 2 orders of curry chicken and rice that I didn’t not order. Even the sides I ordered plantains and got rice. I know people say if they don’t give you an attitude then the food won’t be good, but they need a serious attitude adjustment.

As far as Jamaican or Caribbean food goes, this place is average at best. Especially having enjoyed Jamaican food from various other states, and being born and raised in the Caribbean, there’s not much that makes the food stand out. I always look forward to trying some good oxtail, but again this just didn’t do it for me. Also, I’m used to rice & peas with cabbage and plantain being the norm, having to pick 2 out of 3 just makes it less worth it. They get points for authenticity, the decor of the venue itself, and the location. But this isn’t a place I would frequent for good Caribbean food. It’s decent. And no soup?! That was a disappointment, not to mention horrible customer service over the phone. Luckily, service inside the store itself is better.
