What a Gem in the middle of nowhere. Was making a road trip home from Texas to Florida and needed something good to eat and boy did this place do me right. The staff was very pleasant and the food was just what I was looking for.
We are from out of town and stumbled onto this place. When we went in we noticed that there was a group of 2 large families sitting in the restaurant. To me, that means the food must be good, because in this economy, you won't take family out for bad food. I had the fried bologna sandwich and my wife had chicken fried steak. We also had fried green tomatoes. Food was excellent. We went to pay and that's when I noticed the 2 pictures of the DPS Troopers on the counter...
The food was mediocre at best. The broccoli cheese soup was actively bad. The menu has shrunk and some of the best staff were not there. This place has gone downhill and we likely will not be back.
