I have memories of Wright’s BBQ dating 60 years. I eat there every chance I have. I’m in Maine now so my ability to grab some Q is severely limited. Is there a DoorDash delivery in Mexia? Anybody?? I’m trying to find a way to get a couple of jars of their BBQ sauce sent to me in Maine.
I've always loved Wright's, so I make it a point to stop by when I'm in Mexia.

We stopped here for lunch while passing through town. Not much of a sign and not much curb appeal, but we could tell by the full parking lot that this place had to have good bbq. Can’t go wrong.
Lunch today was the pork sandwich and collard greens. Both disappeared quickly. Great food. Great restaurant!

I wanted some bbq, my husband went here and got me a chop beef sandwich and half of chicken.. The chicken was some hard and dry, I couldn’t eat it… My chop beef sandwich was dry and the bun was burnt… I had to throw the whole meal in the trash.. So disappointed

This place is like an Oasis in the desert, there are no other BBQ spots around here at least none to speak of. They have excellent prices compared to Austin's ridiculous prices for BBQ. If you haven't tried them you are missing out for real.
My husband and I were driving home and wanted BBQ, so we chose to go at Wright’s BBQ. It’s a place that you would probably skip if you like the big restaurants, but let me tell you , it’s family owned and the food is really good. Don’t let looks deceive you. The owners are very nice and the food ? yummy.
