Unfortunately, what used to be a fairly good restaurant has taken a sharp decline in service and overall satisfaction. The quality of the food is less than ideal and definitely deviated from previous years. In addition, the entree I received was not what I had ordered. The wait time to order or receive food or water is rather long.To that end, I didn’t really feel like the staff was very attentive despite arriving when they opened for the evening. This was extremely disappointing as I had chosen to go here for my birthday one of which was a significant milestone.I’ll have to “redo” a celebration and I’ll probably avoid this establishment moving forward.

The Garlic Press has great food. I wanted to treat myself with a nice meal while working in Midland and went here. I’m so glad I did! I ordered the jalapeño shrimp pasta, a glass of wine, and the crème brûlée. So good!

Garlic press is a jack of all trades experience. My party of 4 had a 5:30 reservation, arrive about 10 minutes early, and were promptly seated. The server was at our table in seconds pouring water and offering other beverages. Food service was just a tad on the slow side but not too big a deal as we were all wrapped up in our conversations. Food was delicious! From our their signature garlic bread appetizer to our desserts, nothing disappointed. Highly recommend the Fried Okra Salad and Cajun Shrimp. They do have a fairly extensive wine list as well for those who care to partake. The atmosphere is small and intimate. Perfectly suited for a romantic dinner or, in our case, a dinner with another couple. As far as I can serve, the restaurant wouldn't be ideal for table over 4 but, they can accommodate with proper advance notice. This is my 3rd or 4th time here and they have been consistent every time. Spent a little over $50 person but, that included salad, entrée, and dessert (sorry, forgot to get pictures of desserts but, they were great). I definitely recommend checking this place out.Dishes Pictured: Boar Osso Bucco, Ribeye Lollipop, and Cajun Shrimp

Great food, can’t go wrong with the chicken romano or the steak two perfect dishes that this restaurant serves. The inside really clean and smooth and the art is wonderful and the roof is such a delightful touch. Prices might be more upscale but the experience is worth your time or your money and the wine with some of the dishes are too die for.Vegetarian options: gluten options are great and the vegan meals delish.Kid-friendliness: same as the adults just less portions which was perfect.

We had a PERFECT experience at Garlic Press. From the moment the staff unlocked the front door and welcomed us in, service was superb. Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable about menu items as it was our first visit. Enjoyed the meat all appetizer. The bread was a lovely touch with the garlic and press. I had the Corvina fish. I've never heard of it but the taste was amazing. Risotto with pumpkin seeds was delicious. Can't wait to return and try the wine menu. Please visit this gem in Midland.

My wife and I usually do not eat out for occasions such as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day because of crowds and limited menus. The Garlic Press is our favorite, so we decided to make a later reservation at 7:30. We were most pleased with our experience. The wait for our table was less than five minutes. The waitress appeared promptly and highlighted the menu. To our surprise the full menu was available. As usual, the crusty bread with butter, roasted garlic cloves, and seasoned oil provided a perfect start to a delicious dinner. My wife ordered artichoke hearts stuffed with shrimp. She pronounced it delicious. I started with the salmon terrine. I like salmon and have eaten other terrines, but never salmon terrine. It presented a delicate flavor and was most appealing. Her entree was the very flavorful vegan stuffed shells. I enjoyed the potato crusted flounder which happened to include two generous filets. Both plates included perfectly cooked, tender crisp, and delicately but distinctly seasoned vegetables. My only comment is that service could have been more attentive, but this was a very busy evening. We were pleased with our waitress's wine recommendation. The Garlic Press provided us a perfect, special-occasion dinner. We certainly will return.

After decades Garlic Press continues to be at the top of my favorites. Food, wine, service is tops. The salmon and the jalapeño shrimp pasta were fantastic. Mexican chocolate cake and port wine was off the charts and the service we received from Micah was unbeatable.

We had the worst service I have ever had in my entire life. We were seated quickly and our drinks brought out and our orders taken. It was downhill from there. 40 minutes later we had not received our bread or our salads. After speaking to the manager another server took our salad orders and it took 20 min to get them. She then brought us complimentary soup, 2 bowls for 3 people!!! 2 tables near us who arrived after us were already finishing dinner and we were just getting our salads. 40 min later our dinners arrived, lukewarm. After comping our desserts we were told they would also comp the drinks. The check arrived quickly and guess what. We were charged for the “free” drinks. Wow. 2 hours for a mediocre dinner at $200. Never again.Parking: Terrible parking

Ok what’s the awesomeness about this restaurant? I guess the more you spend the better it tastes? I’ll admit it was good but won’t give it a great rating. Beautiful environment and atmosphere. Wait staff were more than helpful. I’d give them the great rating!

Starters the staff has gone way down hill. You are now greeted by a teenager wearing flannel who could careless about seating you. Secondly the food has fallen way off. Steak was so tough you needed a saw for it. The risotto cakes were way under cooked. Rum cake tasted like a bottle of cheap rum. All in all if you are expecting the Garlic Press you fell in love with, you are going to be sadly disappointed. This you to be a place of class. Not anymore. Sad.

This establishment has been here for a long while, and with good reason. The calamari appetizer was one of the best I've ever had, next followed by Palomino's out of Dallas. With that being said, I have not that impressed with the Flounder I had. It want bad just not over the top. We went here because my friend wanted the Chicken Ramona, it had great flavor. And the Roasted garlic served with the bread (hence the name) satisfied my garlic love.

The garlic press is one of the best restaurants in midland. Always quality food. Great waitstaff. Makes for a quality date night.

The food is delicious! This is a cute intimate place for dinner! Service can be hit or miss if they have a large party in their separate room. Although we have never had an issue! We go quite frequently.

This was the best dinner experience I've had since moving to the Permian Basin! The service was great, the food was excellent, and after realizing we weren't ordering meats, they offered a special plant-based menu for us. On top of that, their beer selection had our favorites.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options.Dietary restrictions: Menu could be tailored to fit.
