I moved to midland about 3 years ago and started my entire Google review hobby and of my 3 years… this is the best place in midland. I have been here many times with the hibachi and I have had so many memories here with my family. The waiters are the best and shoutout to the chef who has been the hibachi chef for us every time we have been there. I love this place and that’s why I rate this place 5 Stars.Kid-friendliness: They have a lot of stuff to entertain even the littlest of kids. From fire to a little bottle with a toilet on top with a kid on it that pours water in your mouth. That’s why this place is kid-friendly

The flavors lacked the vibrancy and freshness I typically associate with a satisfying sushi meal. The texture of the rice seemed a bit off, and the overall presentation fell short of expectations. While it wasn't a terrible experience, there's room for improvement to elevate it to a more enjoyable dining venture.

We have been regulars ever since this establishment opened, but we have noticed that the food quality has diminished the last couple of times we visited. We initially assumed it was a fluke or a bad day, but after our second bad experience in a row we decided we would not return. The sushi we ordered had burnt shrimp in it and there was even a little bug in our food.
Don’t be fooled by the outside, you walk in and it’s larger than it seems and nice too! I walked over from Discount Tire to take advantage of the time. What a yummy treat. I had their lunch Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box with Onion Soup. The chicken was very moist and their sauce was delicious. The edamame was slightly over cooked to me, but still tasty nonetheless. I will be back for sure!

Great place for sushi! My wife and me caught the lunch specials. I had chicken and steak with noodles. Steak came out very tender and with lots of taste. The chicken was moist and flavorful also. We ordered three sushi rolls: eel roll, spicy salmon, and salmon/avocado. They did not disappoint. Overall, great lunch with friendly staff. I would recommend to friends and family. We will return in the future for more delicious sushi!
Went for lunch on a Tuesday and opted out on the and it wasn't very busy. The service was amazing and food was delicious. Our server made sure we were always filled with drinks and to check on us if we needed anything else. Will definitely come back.

I think Sumo has the best sushi in Midland. The nigiri is always super buttery, fresh, and delicious. The fresh rolls are always really good too. I feel like the palates of most people in this town leans toward the tempura deep fried rolls, so I can't speak too much to that end, but if you're in the mood for some of the freshest raw fish in Midland, Texas, this is the place to go. Secret tip, sit at the sushi bar.
