Ordered 7 mares, broth was good, nothing had a fresh taste. The imitation crab was so cheap it had a pasty texture and a flavor of grains as if it were beyond meat. Not one flavor of freshness. I decided against my better judgment to have the raw oysters assuming they couldn’t ruin that for me. They tasted of mud and lacked any umami flavor at all. The waitresses didn’t speak English and it didn’t matter. They were kind, attentive and do a great job. Too bad the food sucks. I drove across town to try this place. I’d have refused to pay if I could have gotten a word across.

This is our favorite local spot for Cocktel de Cameron y Tostadas de Ceviche. I was stuffed w/ only 1 Ceviche tostada. You may request a half-order of the Tostadas de Ceviche. Their salsa negra is yummy and gives seafood dishes that extra flavor. Their Aguas de Limón & Horchata were excellent and hit the spot when you're thirsty. Their waitstaff was excellent and ready to offer advice on their menu.

Caldo de Siete Mares was what I ordered. I've been coming here for about 3 years and the soup has always been really good. Well it doesn't come with rice any more and it only had shrimp and crab and it had no flavor at all and it was $21.

Their loco fries were really good. The biggest surprise were their fries, hot and crispy. Can’t go wrong with a Mexican coke either.

I stopped in for lunch at Taqueria El Gallo de Jalisco in Midland and was genuinely impressed. As soon as I sat down, fresh chips and a bold, spicy salsa were brought to the table—simple but packed with flavor. I ordered the tacos de carne asada plate, and everything about it was just right. The carne asada was flavorful and tender, topped with fresh cilantro, diced onions, and their red hot sauce, which brought the perfect level of heat without overpowering the taste.

I also had an horchata, which was smooth, perfectly chilled, and balanced—not too sweet, not too watery. The service was quick and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience feel effortless.

If you're in Midland and want an authentic Mexican meal without the wait, this spot is absolutely worth checking out. Highly recommend for a satisfying and fast lunch.

If you want to feel the Mexican heritage in your dishes, this is the place from the moment you enter, the attention is pleasant, we ordered birria tacos and they were excellent, it is worth coming back. I recommend it, I still have many dishes to try so I will return!
