Great food and quality, great recipes! Quality meat. Basically, you’re paying Dickie’s prices (since they went up not long ago), but it’s actually worth the price.

The food is really good and plentiful. Get there early as it does get packed. Went there for the first time with some work colleagues and it was everything they said it would be. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely worth it.

Sides were great along with the sausage however, turkey , pork ribs and brisket were dry as hell. All had great flavor but for the money I was disappointed.

I am picky about barbecue, and The Half Acre is the rare place that feels like it is serving competition-level BBQ every single day. The quality is consistently world class, not just when you catch them on a good day.

What really stands out is how they pair that level of execution with real value. The portions are generous, and the pricing stays surprisingly affordable for what you are getting.

My wife doesn’t even like BBQ that much, and she still asks to come back here often… for the BBQ.

Always good here. It gets very busy at lunch so we go a bit after the rush. The atmosphere is great and everything on the menu is delicious. Staff is friendly and and service is quick.

Great BarBQ. The standouts are the pork ribs and the BBQ sauce

Can't say much, but what great tasting Barbeque.

Today was my first experience with this BBQ joint. The first expression of the employees will set the tone for the business.

After me and my son walked into the restaurant, I noticed 2 windows, the window that was next to the wall which had the menu posted on it is the window that I am referring to. The employee that was sitting behind this window ( Latino woman), did not greet us, she starred at us with a frown on her face. We didn’t receive a greeting or a salutation. She acted as if she was annoyed at us because we were looking over the menu!

The food in my opinion was not great. There was a sweet glaze on the ribs. I would have rather that the ribs had dry rub and the bbq sauce was separate. However, some BBQ joints use dry rub and add the sauce on the side and some add the sauce directly on the BBQ. I did not like the green beans, they had no seasoning on them.

As for the atmosphere, there was an elderly lady that greeted me with a smile on her face and she was polite and attentive.

I may have given the restaurant another chance if it weren’t for the rude reception that we received from the employee.

MMC’s The Half Acre is easily one of Midland’s best barbecue spots. The quality and care in every dish stand out — brisket with perfect bark, juicy ribs, and creative sides like green chile mac that hit just right. The atmosphere blends casual and upscale, with both indoor and patio seating that make it easy to relax. Service is friendly, food comes out quick, and everything tastes fresh. It’s clear Midland Meat Company takes pride in this place — consistent, flavorful, and absolutely worth the stop every time.

Half Acre is excellent! The Food is delicious, the service is the best. The Atmosphere is great as well. We love coming for lunch, and occasionally for dinner. I have never ordered anything i didn’t like. Portions are great as well. Normally i end up with leftovers to take home.
