It is under ownership. The gentleman who used to run it and do cook the food closed. The new owners are nice but the food is pricer now and not as good as the previous owner

GO HERE!!!!FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY. Joe and his lovely wife have turned this place around in the past few months. New menu items AND the best smoked ribs and brisket around. You can see the pit smoking as you get close!! Breakfast too! "Brisket Burrito" are household words for us now. They have bait....and ice.....and picnic supplies. THANKS TO JOES COUNTRY STORE FOR BRINGING "COUNYRY" BACK TO THE COUNTRY STORE

Really more of a 2.5 ish, although the other person i was with would not say that (he said 1) but I always give points for staff friendliness. And they were very nice.So this place has new owners. I'm not sure when that happened, but the menu that is shown here as of today is still up but it is not their menu. Neither are the prices. And I'm not sure that the hours are the same either. We got there around 3. The open sign was on. However, they seemed a bit surprised that they had customers and initially weren't sure if they had food. They did but the only main course they had were pulled pork sandwiches and didn't have most of the sides. We got 2 pulled pork sandwiches and potato salad sides and two bottled coke (they were out of fountain drinks) for a little over $30.Flavor of the meat was pretty good, no BBQ sauce, nor did I see any around anywhere but to be fair I did not ask. The potato salad wasn't terrble, it just didn't have much flavor at all.Maybe once the new owners get situated, things will smooth out a bit more. I'd just suggest that they update the information online so that people don't go expecting one thing and getting something else entirely.

Very disappointed with the long 45 minute wait, only to receive one slice of brisket and 3 pieces of sausage with my $15.99 plate. Sides were bland and microwaved. Never been here before, never again.

This is a family store/BBQ place out in an undeveloped area that serves the BEST bbq I have ever had anywhere in Mansfield or Arlington. The young man helping us today was so friendly and took very good care of us. He let my granddaughter sample the sausage before ordering because she mentioned that she's a picky eater and rarely eats meat. She loved it! He gave her some white bread and she made a sandwich and enjoyed it very much.My husband and I had the sliced brisket with potato salad and beans. The brisket had the perfect ratio of meat to fat to crust and was tender and juicy. The potato salad and beans were flavorful and good serving sizes. We left there full and had just enough left for a nice snack.Highly recommend you give them a try! Closed Mon/Tue/Wed so you need to plan accordingly. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Tried for the first time and these are the best ribs in Midlothian, Mansfield, Grand Prairie and South Arlington. A hidden gem ?. Mrs Rhonda and her staff are so sweet and she made me feel like we were old friends. Take it from an ol’ Alabama southern girl.. these ribs are finger lickin good. Y’all gone and try ‘em out now ya hear? ???

We picked up BBQ dinner from Joe’s last night and we were pleasantly surprised that everything was spot on! Under the heading of “you can’t judge a book by its cover” this General Store has the BEST Smoked Brisket, sliced and chopped., ever!!! They have tasty sides as well which my family loved; from the flavorful beans to the mustard potato salad, cole slaw, and fries. They also had hot links and smoked sausage that we will have to try in the future. You love BBQ, Joe’s is a must try!

Living in DFW there are many great barbeque places to choose from. If you haven’t been to Joe’s General Store—GO. The most tender and flavorful brisket. My only wish is that I’d of bought more!

Sent my wife up Saturday to pick some up, and I was not disappointed when she and I opened up the container, loved it all, had the ribs, probably the best ribs I've have ever purchased, the flavor and smoke was perfect, brisket the flavor was off the chart good, only complaint was it was a little dry, but the sauce helped there, and I thought it was good too. We tried the sausage and Hot links and liked them as well, my wife said that the gentleman that helped her was nice, friendly, and helpful. Thank you for that! Oh I almost forgot the potato salad, how did I forget that... lol it was different, but great as well, I'm a big fan of the coleslaw as well. They were out of beans but I will try them next time!!! Oh yeah and the fries are just fries, so for kids ok.
