Don Nico’s Mexican Restaurant

This was our first time and last time here. Our server was very polite and checked on us plenty of times so I will say the service was good. The queso literally looked like someone dumped a gallon of yellow 5 in the mix and the tase was very salty. The salsa almost tasted like just tomato sauce with cilantro and salt. And last but not least we ordered the mole. So excited because no other place in town serves mole regularly but disappointed when it came the mole tasted off like it was missing something almost watered down. And my tortilla was so hard even with sauce on it it didn’t bend when I picked it up. To sum it up don’t go here the quality of The food is just pure crap.

Food really good. Wasn't crazy about the chips but other than that will go back.

You know what, I used to be a fan of this place. As of lately, and this is very unfortunate, they seem to want to douse everything in gallons of cheese. Even when you tell them not to do it, they go ahead and do it. They claim their chimichangas are deep fried, but they're not. Service has declined sharply over the past few months.

We had no idea there was a Don Nicos in Mineral Wells but it is awesome just like the two in Stephenville.

Honestly, this is one of my family's favorite Mexican restaurants in North Texas! After exploring Lake Mineral Wells State Park, we oftentimes pop in here to fill our empty tanks/tummies. We always leave happy ... and sometimes even have leftovers!
