Ichiban Asian Fusion

This was a great restaurant! The food was amazing, the service was great and the restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Will definitely come again if given the chance.

I really wanted to enjoy my meal here, but unfortunately most of the dishes fell short.
The sushi, particularly the California roll, tasted like it was thrown together quickly. The roll was overwhelmingly cream cheese (easily 80% of the filling), with very little crab or cucumber, which threw off the balance completely. Other sushi pieces also felt sloppy and lacked the fresh, clean flavors I expect.
The fried rice had an off, almost “dirty water” taste that was very unpleasant. The onion soup came out scorched with a burnt flavor that overpowered everything. The General Tso’s chicken (ordered at 4 out of 5 spice) had almost no heat and tasted very similar to the frozen boxed version from the grocery store — sweet, soggy, and one-dimensional.
I know restaurants have off nights, but the execution on these items felt inconsistent with what I’d hope for at this price point. I’d love to see tighter quality control in the kitchen, fresher ingredients, and better seasoning/spice calibration. Hoping for improvement on a future visit!

I ordered the crazy dog roll and they said the sushi wasnt served hot or cold... Very weird.

The sushi roll was mushy and had a strong, unpleasant odor. It contained shrimp tempura, but there was zero crunch — it was completely soft. The roll was served at room temperature, which might be normal in some cases, but combined with the smell and texture, it felt unsafe.
Later that evening, I experienced diarrhea. I won’t be returning.

I go here for a roll of sushi every single day.

I usually have to drive to Fort Worth to get good sushi, because the two other places that have sushi in mineral wells (kirin and Jin’s) have some of the nastiest. Lowest quality sushi I’ve ever had.

So when I discovered ichiban has better quality sushi AND better prices than all of the places I used to go to in Fort Worth to get sushi I couldn’t believe it

You will not be let down with their sushi, it’s sooo good

Best Asian food within a 20-30 miles! The owner is very nice! and promotes a family atmosphere.

I don’t like giving negative reviews but I think people should know. We ordered three dishes and neither was very good: the Hibachi beef had a very overpowering flavor, the Pad Thai used the wrong pasta and was not very flavorful, and the green curry was very mediocre. I had to get up and walk to the counter to get someone to get us water refills. Also, the room was extremely hot.

We enjoyed our shrimp tempura appetizer along with our filet mignon and chicken hibachi dinner with fried rice. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to order. We will for sure be back the next time we are visiting or passing through Mineral Wells.

The outside made me weary but the inside made me feel comfortable. I ordered the sushi deluxe and it was incredibly fresh and aesthetically right on. The wait staff were very friendly and the price was reasonable for the portions. Have been back several times and my review would be as consistent as Ichiban.

Staff is friendly and the food is great! Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait or it can be a little crowded but I think that speaks to how good the food is. Our family is glad to have some decent sushi at a reasonable price in town!

Had my doubts, how fresh can it be all the way out in MW?? Well, I am disappointed in myself for stereotyping bc this place is FIRE 🔥 I have tried several dishes now and everything has been delicious. Don’t pass them up!!

Ichiban is a wonderful place to dine with excellent food and service. I highly recommend them. I would give them a 10 out of 10 star rating!
