What a gem of a spot, steeped in history just off I-20. The food was outstanding and surprisingly affordable! The open-faced chicken-fried steak sandwich tasted homemade and absolutely delicious. And don't get me started on the BLT - it was packed with thick, savory bacon slices!
Drove by this place for years and finally stopped in on a Saturday. Cool little place. Super nice people and the local crowd was there to support. Have a feeling they have quite a few regulars. Food was down home style cooking. Portions sizes were great and the price was amazing. Omelets hash browns, toast, oatmeal, and a full order of biscuits and gravy, and a full side of bacon came in at a little under 30 $. Oh ya, a medium orange juice too. Real nice. We stopped here on way back to Fort Worth from Brownwood. It was a wonderful stop. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and serves tasty food.We had a burger, chicken fried steak and chopped steak. The were all delicious. The side were great also. Service was wonderful they checked on us multiple times.
