We had certain expectations for this establishment based on the reviews we read. Today, we visited for lunch, I ordered a masala dosa (note that there is an additional charge for each item), and my husband chose the Thali( $17.99). The dosa was somewhat acceptable, but not worth the $9.99 .The chutney tasted old. I also ordered a filter coffee, but it did not resemble filter coffee at all,it had the flavor of instant coffee. When the thali arrived, everything, including the rice, was unsatisfactory. The rice was hard (it seemed like it was a day old), and the kuruma was spoiled. We reported the issue to the front desk. I regret having to leave a negative review, but everyone arrives with certain expectations, don't they?.

Not a fan of negative reviews but needed to provide this honest review based on my experience today
Had a thali today and was completely disappointed, conveyed this to the person at the front desk well
Now the detaisl,Thali was 17.99
Rice ,looks like couple of days old heated in microwave ,couldn't even chew it as was really rough
Sambar, rasam ,no flavor, tried little bit and left the rest
Vegetable porial ,cheapest portal with potato and just basic
Vegetable korma , this also looks heated and may be old ,tried little bit with the provided roti
Payasam ,didnt tried
Dal ,didnt tried
Pappadam ,taste of some over used bad oil, tried little bit
Thats it ,can you belive its 17.99 ?
Please fix the issues ,always wanted to see all restaurants do well as a foodie
Gayatri Bhavan catered for my son’s engagement. The food was liked by all the guests. The food arrived on time.

Such a quaint little round-the-corner South Indian Restaurant. Love the fact that you can build your own dosa. The mushroom manchurian is a must have!!

We visited Gayathri Bhavan for the first time yesterday and it was a wonderful experience. The ambience was very welcoming with mild music in the background and overall warm lighting and interiors. The food quality was excellent. Everything tasted fresh and perfect! We ordered Mysore Bonda appetizer, North Indian Thali, Chole Bhature, and Mango Lassi on the side - every dish in the main meal was cooked and warmed up really well before serving! The mango lassi tasted very fresh and the pooris/other sabjis in the thali weren't also overly oily or extremely spicy. Everything was balanced so well and the portion sizes were also perfect!
Our host for the evening, Harshat was also very sweet and welcoming, and took in our requests very sincerely. The wait time was also not that long, and the dishes were served within 10-12 mins of ordering. On top of all this, the restaurant was super tidy, which itself made the dinner experience very warm and relaxing! The cherry on the cake, of course, is that its a pure vegetarian restaurant with Jain and tiffin options throughout the day, so this will definitely be on the top of our restaurant choices for the future!
Will recommend this any day!

Service and Ambience were good. Food was very poor - bland and cold. Unfortunately we won’t be back again.
