The food at Red River Cantina is probably some of the better Tex-Mex Restaurants in the area!Our wait 'to be seated' for dinner took less time than expected for our table of six. While waiting with a few other families at the front entrance, we noticed numerous empty tables and chairs. After being seated, I look around and see more empty sections. Tried this place on the way home from Beaumont. The Monday special is pretty awesome. They take chicken fajitas and cover them in a white wine cilantro cream sauce while throwing in some scallops and shrimp. It’s served with all the fixings. Not bad at all.
First time trying this place today. Atmosphere and decor were pretty nice. Service was mediocre and while the food was hot and delicious it lacked the amount of meat you'd except you are paying for. I ordered the chicken Diablos plate with 6 jalapeños and 6 tiny pieces of chicken in the middle of each one. I'd have to guess they were less than half an ounce of meat in each jalapeño and paid $20 for that plate. Would have been better off ordering fajitas.
