Taylor and Laini are the best bartenders in Montgomery County.

I ordered a main dish and a cup of black tea with lemon. The tea was served in a coffee cup, and when I asked for sugar and a teaspoon, neither ever arrived, so my tea went cold.
When my main dish was finally brought out, it was barely warm. To their credit, the staff replaced my cold tea, but again I had to request a spoon, which should not be necessary. Unfortunately, the tea also tasted like the cheapest kind you can buy at a supermarket. Overall, the service felt careless, and the quality was disappointing.

Wow. I’ve heard this place had gone downhill and indeed it has. We’ve lived here 16 years and lots of good memories eating outside with the boys. Last time we came here, food and service were marginal at best. This time it was hardly even worth commenting to waitress how bad the food was. My 4 little raviolis were submerged in a massive dish of sauce and was like a soup. I needed a spoon to fish them out. What chef would serve this?? Or cook??? Their special lettuce wraps were literally some grilled chicken wrapped in lettuce. About $4 worth of food for $20. All in we were $45 without tip and will have to go home for a snack.

I went to this restaurant about 3 years ago. It was amazing food and great service. Now the prices are WAY too high, and the service is absolutely terrible. The food is not good like it was 3 years ago. The club fees are ridiculous. This club used to be the number two in the state of Texas. Now I wouldn’t want that be surprised it won’t even make the top ten. Great course, but not worth the membership. Not sure what happened to this place but it’s definitely not the same vibe like it used to be. Zero stars.

Sorry to say, very disappointed. The price of mimosa/bloody Mary with buffet had doubled. Food was cold and not very good. Brought family for Father's Day, all were disappointed.

The food is always delightful here. Happy to see James is back serving again this summer. He was our go to man last year. The California flat bread and bacon chicken wrap were phenomenal. My water was always full. Keep up the great work young man!

The food is very good, great view, great service. We request to be seated in William or Sawyer's area. I usually order off the weekly special menu, which is a nice way to try something new. The regular menu items are fan favorites with others such as the COCONUT CHILI TENDERS, SOUTHWEST COBB, and PHILLY LOADED CHEESESTEAK. The cafe recently got a remodel. Looks very nice! So 2025! In the evening there is live music outside on the patio. Very enjoyable.
They have great service and the food is always delicious. We enjoy the breakfast buffet sometimes on Sunday. Montgomery and Walden should be glad to have this place.
Took wayyy too long to get served. Three of our group of ten was served 40 min before everyone else. Waited over an hour to get served all together. Took 35 min of just to be served drinks
Worst breakfast service ever. Waited 20 minutes for coffee and 45 minutes for food (which arrived cold).

Food is always great! Daryl’s omelettes are the best!
Had reservations for new years and were promptly seated. We might as well have been invisible though, because we waited 25 minutes while everyone around us and after was serviced. Ended up going to 7leguas instead.
We worked Saturday, so headed to the golf club for a quick dinner after making a plan with friends. We have lived in the area for approximately 10-years, and visited Cafe on the Green more times than I can remember. Breakfast (Sunday), lunch & dinner, special events too. What a lovely evening it was on Saturday; the temperature was nice, a local two piece band (the Wise Guys) played outside on the patio area. We had no reservation but managed to get seated (without issue), far enough away from the band that we could talk. Most people sat outside with the weather being so good, inside was largely empty. So, we ordered drinks and poured over the menu. It was new (I have not visited for a few months), and there was a nice looking Ribeye with asparagus on the “features” page. At some point during the ordering process we started to get an early warning that things would not go well tonight. The Ribeye wasn’t (apparently it was a strip steak), neither was it 10oz (never found out what it was) and there was no idea what it might cost. Our server told us none had gone out despite it being a special! A little odd, but not to worry - so I chose a Walden Salad appetizer followed by the bacon wrapped bone in Pork Chop. I was the only one in our party to order an appetizer. After some time, it was a while but our server told us the kitchen was backed up, the mains came out together with my appetizer. The salad was good, I enjoyed it before reminding our server that I was still missing a main. He assured me it was coming, took a drinks order for the table, and that was the last time he visited our table for the next half hour (probably longer). After a while we did ask another server for assistance, suggesting he might have forgotten about us. We could see him, we could see them all - the whole side of the building is glass. But no one came, they all congregated inside maybe talking about the situation, maybe not - who knows? Then after another 10-15 minutes the Scarlet Pimpernel emerges from the kitchen with the pork chop. Everyone else was long finished with their dinners, and we still had no drinks…. The pork chop was warm but overcooked - definitely not worth the wait. And the just as I finished my meal, our drinks all turned up. Apparently “the bar is backed up too” but it wasn’t, we could see the bar the whole time we were there. Two drinks were all that arrived from 7.10pm-10.15pm. I take no comfort writing this review. Cafe on the Green has been an important piece part of the community ever since we moved to the area. Furthermore, food & beverage enterprises are having problems attracting and motivating staff, and it really showed on Saturday. I worked in a restaurant all the way through college - it’s tough for sure but IMHO there were more than enough wait staff on duty. Anyway, the atmosphere was great, location perfect, value reasonable and the food was edible. But, what a shame - one terrible experience in a 10-year period. I do hope the new standard of service does not relate to the place being under new ownership.
Total Jekyll and Hyde here. This is a strong five-star lunch place and a weak three star dinner location. At lunch time the view over the golf course is beautiful, the service is sharp and the menu is perfect. At dinner time you can't see the course and the menu feels incomplete. Our dinner server was both inexperienced and confident - a dangerous combination, like when she told us that the chicken my wife had added to her salad "is in there" and it wasn't..
We will be back for lunch many times but have had our first and last dinner here.

They closed for a tournament, which was over, and their hours were not modified online, so we went there, only to be told rudely that they weren't taking customers.
