UPDATE: It's now over 7 years later since I last reviewed Little Tokyo and I still stand by everything I said in my first review 7 years ago. This is still my favorite local Japanese restaurant and everything there is always extremely fresh, especially the sashimi, sushi, salads and edamame. The price still is the best around in my opinion as they seem to not have gone up nearly as much as other restaurants have since the pandemic. I tend to be extremely picky about the Japanese food I eat, and I continue to go there whenever I want quality Japanese food at a reasonable price. I do strongly disagree with some of the negative comments I see from other reviews of this restaurant here on this forum. Yes, it's small. Yes, there's not a whole lot of "ambiance". The server has never EVER been anything but pleasant with me for the 7+ years I've been going there (once or twice a month). But I honestly don't give a flip about any of that. I'm only interested in quality Japanese food at reasonable prices and this place fits my wishes and wallet better than any other Japanese restaurants I've tried in my area over the many years I've lived here as I am local. My bottom line is they have great traditional Japanese food at affordable prices in my opinion. I will continue to be a loyal customer of theirs for as long as I'm living here in the area. I still highly recommend this Japanese restaurant. Anyone who wants more than that should go somewhere else in my opinion.

You will not find a finer, authentic sushi restaurant in Montgomery county, and few equals down in Houston. There is a real master chef at work here. The chirashi I ordered even came out with real wasabi (or at least an indistinguishable facsimile). The only negative is they don't presently serve alcohol, so no sake. Strongest recommendation.

Pros: Basic rolls and sushi for great prices. The people that run this place are efficient and provide great service. Cons: If it's HOT outside, you better be in and out or consider an establishment that has better AC. Eating sushi in a hot restaurant just isn't a great combo. Overall, good for a quick lunch, but wouldn't go out of my way to dine here if looking for ambiance and incredible presentation. Recommend WO Sushi in Woodforest for "date night" quality. Sushi in Montgomery/Conroe seems to be difficult to come by for consistent quality, which is why I've overlooked Akashi on Lake Conroe.

We chose this restaurant, because it has much higher reviews than the other two sushi restaurants nearby. I do not know why it has 4.5 stars. Our hostess/waitress was a bit abrupt, not very friendly. The bathroom really brought it down from a 3 star to a 2 star rating. It was so nasty it made me lose my appetite. The restaurant also was not very clean, for example the blinds in the window we sat next to were filthy with dust. Maybe you think these things are not important, but it makes you wonder about the kitchen cleanliness. The house salad was good. The carrot dressing interesting and good. The rolls we had ranged from OK to good. None were great. To end, the fortune cookies were stale.

Good rolls at decent prices. Place could use a little refresh and cleaning, but I'll go back.

I and my husband searched the restaurant around Lake Conroe area which got a good review and we found out this Japanese restaurant so we wanted to try. It’s a big surprise that it opens only weekdays from 11 am - 4 pm. However, I knew the reason from the daughter of the owner of the restaurant who served us. She didn’t want her parents to work more because they’re getting old. However, the customers are happy with the good and fast service. The price is reasonable and the taste is so good. I’ve no doubt why they’re trying to go there when they open it.

I really like this place. It’s good sushi, maybe not the best in the world but still good. It’s small, quiet, and the prices are fair.

This place is amazing! One of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. I highly recommend their lunch specials - a lot of tasty fresh food for a very reasonable price. Everything I tried there was amazing.I love to support them since they are a small mom and pop restaurants, but they are doing such a good job. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and the take out is usually ready within 10 minutes of the order.
