Delicious and fresh
What a disappointment! This place used to be great, What the hell happened? They used to have great food and pastries. Now it's nothing like it was. I walked in and its a dirty run down crappy gas station now. I walked out and wont be back.
Best real German style struedel in all of Texas! They also carry DELICIOUS Breakfast Sausage in a Blanket from Fisher's Meat Market across town. Not a restaurant, just pick up to go.
Strudel is fabulous 🤩
Good bakery items with good customer service.
I stopped by on the way through Muenster to get donuts to take to work and strudel for a funeral dinner. The strudel was strawberry and cheese. It was tasty, but the crust was rather tough to cut.
Bayers used to have the best donuts in the area. They were light and tasty. The new owner bragged to me how big and thick they were as he was packing them into a box. They are large. Sadly, they are no longer making the Bayer family’s recipe. The donuts are very cake-like in texture and dense. I judge a donut by lightness and flavor. These were heavy and very greasy. They soaked through the box.
Bayers isn’t very close to my house, so I have always relished the chance to go by and grab a donut or two. I spent $45 on pastries and they’re going to waste because no one at work likes them. 😢
I won’t buy donuts there again unless I hear that they’ve come to their senses and gone back to the original recipe.
I will say that the staff was very friendly.
Very tasty strudels
Was a really great place when it was owned and operated by a local family. Sadly, like most stores they sold out and it's gone downhill.
Very good stuff and the guys working were extremely nice and even was offering us discounts.

Kind of a hole in the wall gas station but the pastries are fantastic!
Best doughnuts ever. Great strudel too
What a shock! Bakery? Gas station convenience store, yes. The strudel was pretty bad. If you consider 1/4 inch thick powered sugar a good thing, this is for you. The pastry was soggy and not like a typical strudel should have. We actually drove to another bakery down the road in Gainesville at a place called Rumpy’s to get a strudel to compare and what a difference! The bakery itself is still in a gas station convenience store but looks more like a bakery with many more baked items. The strudel itself was excellent! The pastry was layered and flaky like a strudel is typically. Bayer’s Bakery is not the place for strudels.
Great pastries and service.
Don't be fooled! I was so excited to stop when I saw they had German pastries/strudles. Donuts are not German pastries! I was definitely disappointed, and had to settle for a stale donut.
