Stopped by The BBQ Shop for lunch while passing thru town. I’m glad I did! What a great BBQ joint. It opened in 1959! We enjoyed brisket & pulled pork sandwiches with beans, slaw, pimento cheese stuffed jalapeño and apple cobbler with sweet tea. I was all delicious! I especially enjoyed the cobbler. It was very reasonably priced, a great atmosphere and the service was top shelf. Don’t change a thing. I’ll drop by next time I’m in town.Parking: Plenty of space if you’re pulling a trailer of driving an RV.
Just passing through the town. Barbecue brisket was good but would have been much better without the sauce. They didn't even ask if I wanted it. Best barbecue prices I have seen lately...I had stopped going to my local barbecue restaurants because prices have gotten ridiculous. I would go more often if it was priced like here.

I thought the ribs were mediocre, end piece was dry. Potato salad was the creamy type, I thought all Texans preferred the chunky kind? The table was sticky when we sat down. Not impressed at all.

Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience. Our food was cold. Our banana pudding tasted like jalapeños and the customer service could’ve been better. However, the sides were good.

I see alot of ppl go thru drive thru, if they did dine in, I don't think they would go back...the bar b que isn't that great..there desserts are delicious.
They cut their brisket before you order it... Hours before you order it and it sits in a metal tray full of lukewarm water...

Nice mom and pop feel diner. Meats are cut for you but sides are self serve. Beans were a star, coleslaw not so much. Got a 3 meat and tried the turkey, brisket, and sausage. Sauce is good. Also ordered fully loaded potato and blackberry cobbler. Cobbler is sweet and delicious and the potato was tender and good. We stayed and chatted for over 45 minutes and never felt rushed.
Good food and super great customer service!
