Applebee's Grill + Bar

Not the best place to eat when it’s empty on a Saturday evening. The bathrooms were dirty, service was slow, had to ask for straws, napkins and silverware. I ended up going to the bathroom and getting paper towels. The appetizers came and we asked for appetizer plates. No silverware or napkins plus the drinks came after the appetizers. There was 10 in our party. Part of food was cold.

This is the first time in my 45 years of life that I Did not leave a tip. I came in tonight with my daughter because it was Tuesday and kids eat for $1.99. I don’t often go out to eat, and when I do, I like to save money when I can. I was seated quickly And my server, Justin G Started out very attentive and kind. However, after he gave us our food, we did not see him for a very long time, and I waited for a box and the bill. Because I waited so long, I handed him my credit card before looking at the bill and he walked away and ran the card, but when I looked at the receipt, I noticed he charged me for a full kids meal. When he came back with the receipt that I paid, I Asked if they were still running the dollar $1.99 kids special. He replied with “Oh is it Tuesday?” This was shocking because the place was full of kids. And he seemed like a waiter who had worked there for a while and would know that Tuesday was kids night. He offered to go speak to a manager, but when he finally came back, he Said all his manager could do was give me a free kids meal when I came back. I did not want to come back. I wanted the bill fixed and he said it was not possible to Refund me And rerun my credit card. I explained to him that that was absurd and that if the bill was incorrect, they should be able to do that or he should be able to offer me another option. He could’ve even said I can refund you and then you pay cash or something, but he didn’t offer anything else and just stared at me with an odd look as if I was crazy. He did say “I’m sorry this was my fault” which I agreed, but I explained to him that his manager could pay his tip because I was overcharged for my meal.

Sunday November 30th at approximately 4:30 pm while sitting at the bar a server came into the bar and began using profanity and beinv very aggressive with the bartender on duty thus scaring the poor young bartender named Emily. I witnessed Emily who had been screamed at in literal tears and then she left. The bartender who came in and started the scene came back into the bar area and acted as nothing had happened and started servingcustomer's. About 10 minutes after the original bartender left the young lady who caused the scene left the bar un attended for 10 minutes or so. When she returned she reeked of weed and decided to order an abundance of food and proceeded to eat the food while customer's were waiting for drinks sittingat the bar with another co worker. In between the serving of customer's she stopped and took mouthfuls of food. This is unprofessional and disgusting for customer's to witness. I have proof of this taking place.

Great customer service, however I tried to get the 3 for $25 deal and then after leaving at least a 25% tip the meal still cost me over $50. The waitress provided really good service, but the food was pricey, and came in inflation sized boxes because everything is smaller than it used to be still.

My wife and I just had dinner at the new Braunfels restaurant. Omg. It was the worst evening ever. We arrived around 6:15 pm. No hostess anywhere. Finally about 6:30 she comes to seat us. Then we noticed it's burning up in there. The server took forever to come. Maybe 10 minutes we ordered our drinks. Took forever to get those. Then she comes and we gave her the food order. Took a long long time to get our food. We ordered the 2 for 25. Spinach artichoke dip for appetizer, she got the classic bacon cheeseburger. I got the 3 cheese chicken penne. After about 20 minutes we got the food. They forgot ranch on the side. The server brought one after we asked about it. That was not ranch. It was watery and kind of creamy color and it did not even come close to tasting like ranch. Then the buns were burnt on the outer edges and hard. Then there was no dressing on the burger. It was dry. My wife told her she didn't order that. Then there was no bacon. The artichoke dip was good but there was not much in the cup. Not worth the money. After the meal, the server asked how it was. We gave her the bad news. For one, we were sweating from the heat. Their air conditioning was broken. She was very polite and professional and apologized a lot. We didn't blame her. She did a great job but everything else was terrible she got the mgr for us. We told him everything. He said he would not charge us for tge burger meal. It was about 32.00. I asked how's that. We had the 2 for 25 so if you took off one meal then we should've paid 12.50. Plus a tea. The mgr took off the 2 for 25 and charged me for my meal plus the appetizer and drink. So really we didn't get anything taken off because we wanted the 2 for 25. We ordered the 2 for 25 so he shouodve taken off half. We are not happy at all with this place and will never never go back and will pass this on to all our family and friends. I gave them a 1 star but they do not deserve that.

We had a great time, and we were seated immediately. We put in our order, and everything came out hot and in a timely manner. Our server was wonderful, and we were taken care of. The food was delicious and hot, burgers were cooked just right, and fries were delish. They have a $9.99 special going on right now, burger with endless fries/drink. The restaurant was nice and clean.

Had dinner with my husband. Sometimes you have to have wonton tacos and a margarita. Will definitely be going back to this location. Really liking the remodel. Service was great. Had the new pasta dish on the server's recommendation. Was excellent.

Parking: Get off an exit earlier otherwise you will not make it across the lanes to get in and will have to go around the block. Good news is they have a back entrance to the parking lot.

My wife and I are locals, and eat here semi-regularly. Servers Rio and Justin are great, and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful, even on bad days.

Rio and Justin went above and beyond for us. Food came out perfect, and on time. Drinks were always filled promptly. Overall a great birthday dinner 10/10
