Second time trying Blacks BBQ. First time in San Marcos, nothing special about food and sandwich had three small slices of brisket. Seemed like a kids meal size. Decided to give New Braunfels location a try. Brisket and chicken very dry. Had to ask for a replacement chicken as it was hard to cut into. No flavor in chicken or brisket. Regular pork ribs were ok but lots of pepper. Sides were good but didn’t care for seasoning on mac n cheese. Like another reviewer stated, seemed like meat wasn’t freshly cooked. Came on a Monday. Maybe better cooks work the weekend. Price was decent but food is not worth coming back for.

I've heard so much about Black's BBQ that I was perhaps expecting a much superior experience compared to other places, such as Cooper's. The meats are quite good but not outstanding, particularly considering that the prices are twice as much compared to any other BBQ joint.

Good standard bbq and a cool little place to hang out on the way back from racing.

I tried this place for the first time. It was a little confusing at first since we don’t have places like this in Tennessee but everyone guided us and made it all very easy. You start off with your sides and then you get your main dish. I went for some brisket and sausage with jalapeño and cheese. It really does help to know what part of meat you like and I would suggest not getting the fatty part unless you really like that. The brisket tasted amazing and the sausage was also amazing. The sides didn’t let me down either some of the best tasting sides I’ve had. If you get a drink they give you a plastic cup that you can take with you. The food is top notch you don’t really have a waitress you seat yourself and do everything yourself. Even the to go boxes you get yourself. You leave everything on the table when you are done and someone takes care of it. This place is pricey but it is very good.

The best brisket anywhere. They serve up a wonderful smoked turkey as well. We go there every week and are always 100% satisfied.Parking: Always easy to find a spot. Good size spaces too.

Food was amazing, but the service was even better! If you're on the fence of getting the beef giant rib, get it!

I ordered the links very very GREASY , the brisket NO FLAVOR, potato salad terrible, green beans no flavor. Had been trying to come for a long time because of the reviews. I wasted $84.00 of my hard earned money. Blacks is Definitely overrated. But I guess if you’ve never eaten good “slap yo mamma barbecue”, you have nothing to compare it to. ?‍?

Ordered the chopped brisket sandwich. Read some really great reviews about this place. To be honest, I've had much better BBQ elsewhere. Maybe the problem was that I ordered it chopped and it may have been better sliced. I'm used to ordering my brisket mixed, half lean half not so lean. I forgot to specify and wasn't asked. Next time I'm around a Black's, I may give it another go and order it sliced and half and half. If I do and like it better, I'll revise.Parking: Parking was easy.

They changed how they cook the meet. It has a pepper rub on the pork and turkey. We used to love their meats but do not care for the pepper rub. We’ll stick to the Austin location that doesn’t add the pepper. The sides are good as usual. They have gluten free items and are keto friendly. Please bring back the old method of cooking without the pepper!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, keto, dairy free items.

We are from New Jersey and heard all about Black's bbq. It did not disappoint!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. I normally don't like brisket but loved it here along with the jalapeño cheddar sausage and mac and cheese. My husband eats brisket a lot and said it was the best he has ever eaten! Also, the pork rib and smoked turkey were fabulous. Would travel down here again just for Black's!!
