Coopers Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que

I ordered a pork rib , 1/3 pound of brisket and Mac n cheese .. the pork rib was absolutely horrible and the brisket was so damn dry it didn’t even have a freaking smoke ring on it . And why is the bbq sauce like water that u scooped out with a ladle ? I only tried this place cause I was in New Braunfels for work .. but this is by far the worst bbq I’ve had . I genuinely cannot comprehend how it has 4.4 stars

This is always the place to go to for the best BBQ in the Texas hill country! The meats are perfectly smoked, the most moistest turkey and pork chop. Sausage was nice and fat, you don’t need a whole link of it! I always order more than I can eat but your eyes do that when you’re hungry! Pricey when you add it all up but you will not leave hungry! Oh, and let’s not forget the best beans!!!

Felt rushed through the line. BBQ was good, but sides were not good - Mac and cheese and twice baked potatoes were greasy.

We had high hopes that it would be our go to place when in the hills country of Texas. The atmosphere was pleasant and very clean. The service was just as pleasing and staff was polite. Where we were disappointed was with the food. We had heard so much about Texas BBQ we were expecting something special. Our beef ribs were dry and over cooked, our brisket while looking good had very little flavor, and our chicken was cooked well but had no real BBQ sauce or BBQ taste. We were very disappointed especially after forking over $200 for just 4 people. We will try again when we are in the area again and are hoping for a better experience.

Brisket was tough/chewy and sausage had been over the heat too long dried out. Check out girl was friendly and engaging. Over priced

We stopped in based on the great reviews, but unfortunately our experience didn’t match them. The meat was heavily salted and lacked any real smoky flavor — it honestly tasted more oven-roasted than smoked. The chicken was dry, and the brisket was overly fatty and reminded me more of roast beef than true brisket.

Maybe we caught them on an off day, but I don’t think I’ll go back to find out.

It’s worth the cost. I love a roasted smoky corn ON the cob. And the meat was melt in your mouth good. We got a little of everything and loved it all. It’s an unfussy casual place.

Food is amazing
Ray was a super nice guy went out of his way to make sure we got everything we wanted. Went back for a 2nd bowl of Free beans because they are that yummy. Brisket was moist sausage was really good and the pork ribs delicious 10 out of 10 super clean and kid friendly environment!!!!

I've eaten B B Q ALL OVER THE USA, COOPERS WAS AR THE TOP IF MY LIST AFTER MY GID DAUGHTER GOT MARRIED, WE ALL STOPPED AT COOPERS & I HAD THERE WORLD FAMOUS PORK CHOP LORD HAVE MERCY IVE NEVER SEEN A CHOP SO BIG B/4 TENDER SMOKED I ALSO ORDERED THERE COLE SLAW & THERE SAUCE WAS TO DIE FOR 4 DESERT I GOT THERE HOME MADE PEACH COBBLER 2ND TO NONE WOW SO IF URE IN TX I HIGHLY RECCOMEND COOPERS CANT GO WRONG EXCELLENT AS WELL SO IF U TRYIED THE REST TRY THE BEST JERRY DEBLASIO

Food is always on point. No complaints. Hands down BEST BBQ around!! Prices have doubled tho. Be prepared to waste monies on meat.

The beans are absolutely insane. I don't know what they put in them but they are delicious. Spare ribs were good. More overcooked still had a bite.
The beef rib. On the other hand I would prefer if it was taking a little longer. Had to use a knife to cut it up.
Super friendly staff. Great environment definitely will return minus the beef rib.

Large selection of meats and sides. We had a beef rib, sirloin, brisket and turkey. Rib was melt in your mouth, brisket a little tough. Expensive, with sides bill was over $200.
Picnic style seating, a little difficult to find a seat on a Friday night.
All you can eat, serve yourself beans, sauce and bread.
Staff friendly, plenty of parking.
