The tortillas are handmade and the food is overall authentic. The service was very nice as well. Great bank for your buck place that I will look forward to stopping by again. Get the barbacoa if you decide to go, it's delicious

3 of us ate here and didn't feel great after. Do not recommend.

After finishing a TV mounting job, my buddy said, “Man, I wish we could find a hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot.” Five minutes later, we walked into El Norteño Taqueria — exactly what we were looking for.

✅ Atmosphere: Small and tucked away from the outside, but surprisingly spacious inside. Cozy and welcoming.
✅ Service: Our server greeted us right away, super friendly and sweet.

🥤 Drinks: Horchata was creamy, cinnamon-y, and delicious. My friend got the lemonade — huge 32oz glass and refreshing. Definitely recommend trying the horchata, lemonade, or jamaica here.

🌮 Food:
• Quesadilla with asada plate — crispy, cheesy, loaded with flavor, served with rice, beans, salad, and homemade tortillas. Big portion!
• Tejas Plate (combo) — two cheese enchiladas, carne guisada, rice, beans, salad, and tortillas. Comfort food at its best, with perfectly seasoned sauces and traditional flavor. The red and green salsa both hit the spot.

💲 Price/Value: Around $17.93 each for two big plates and massive drinks. Absolute steal for the amount of food you get.

Bottom line: This place proves some of the best food comes from hole-in-the-wall spots. Great portions, homemade tortillas, amazing drinks, and prices that make it worth coming back again and again. Highly recommend! 👏

We came in to try this place from a friend who recommended it. But we left disappointed. My sister in law & wife had ordered pastor gorditas and hers came out burnt. So we asked if we could have it exchanged for a fresh batch…the waiter clearly saw her plate and only brought over a small dish of pastor instead of a whole fresh gordita.

I love hole in the wall Mexican restaurants like this and I really wish I could have given 5 stars but the food was just okay. I believe Mexican restaurants first and foremost MUST have good chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty good but chips sucked. The complimentary serving was small and then they want to charge 1.99 for additional servings which just isn't good enough to warrant.
I had the carne asada. Flavor was ok but the meat was so tough I couldn't cut it or chew it. Charro beans were very good. Roasted salsa was very good. Tortillas were good. My wife had the enchilada/taco combo and she thought it was good but not great. The refried beans were very good however.
It wasn't the best but will go back.

El Norteño Taqueria is a small, cozy local spot that serves truly authentic Mexican food. We stopped by for a late breakfast/early lunch, and after just a couple of dishes, I can honestly say their entire menu must be fantastic.

We tried the birria tacos and some mini tacos. The birria tacos were absolutely succulent—juicy, flavorful, and served with all the right sides. The mini tacos were just as good. We went with the asada and barbacoa, both of which were packed with flavor. They came with grilled onions and grilled jalapeños, which added a delicious smoky kick. The squeeze of lime on top balanced out the richness perfectly.

To drink, we tried the strawberry agua fresca. It was a little on the sweeter side, but still refreshing alongside the heavier tacos.

Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and filling. Prices are very affordable, portions are generous, and the staff is welcoming and kind. This is exactly the type of local restaurant worth supporting—authentic food, great flavors, and a place that doesn’t cut into your wallet.

I highly recommend El Norteño Taqueria to anyone looking for great tacos and a true taste of Mexico

I came here expecting the same fantastic breakfast taco experience I’ve had elsewhere, so the bar was set pretty high. Their tacos were definitely good... the tortillas left me wondering if they were made in-house, and the picante salsas had nice flavor. Still, nothing really wowed me compared to some of the other spots in town.
That said, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was a notch better than many local places. Overall, it was a positive but somewhat forgettable experience. I’ll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes... this visit may have just been an off day.

My cousins and I came here for dinner. None of us had ever been here before. I found it online because I wanted some authentic Mexican food. The reviews were good and the photos looked great. Everything we had was excellent! It needs a coat of paint but the food makes up for it! The place wasn't packed but it was definitely steady with customers. We went to the little ice cream shop next door for dessert and we're pleasantly surprised!
